Never Eat More than You Can Lift~Miss Piggy,6/22 Update

Saturday Dinner - Rose & Crown, United Kingdom/Epcot

I had to try the Sticky Toffee Pudding...

I Love this dessert. I tried it just because I was curious when I was there last year. It was so amazing. I ordered the ooey gooey rendition at Liberty Tree, but I did not like it nearly as much. We're going back in September and I am so looking forward to having this again. We may even make an extra trip just for desserts...

You mentioned using snack credits for biscuits & gravy because of it's price. We have never used dining plan before, are snacks figured by cost? Also, are the snacks allowed with QS dining the same as the reg. dining plan?

Loosely, the rule of thumb is generally if the item is a single serving & less than $4.00 it can be a snack credit. BUT some places have exceptions. And we have seen different Cast Members allow different things, especially at resort food courts. DH got the biscuits & gravy twice that trip - used a snack credit once, and paid cash once (because we were out of snack credits at that point.) Some items will have the "DP" symbol on them, but if the symbol is not on there, ask a cashier.

The snacks are the same no matter what plan you have.

I wish they would serve that dessert at the counter service there in England/Epcot -- would love to get the fish & chips with that for sticky toffee pudding for dessert...but I guess you just get the little pre-packaged shortbread cookies for dessert there:rolleyes:

I just read all of your dining reviews from this trip in one sitting. Now I am starving. LOL! Great to hear the good, bad, and ugly. I also appreciated the drink reviews. I think you have talked me into Yak & Yeti and Chefs de France (we have done Chefs for lunch, but never for dinner). I would also LOVE to do Rose and Crown, but, alas, that will have to wait until our next kid-free trip.

Thanks...and you sound just like me...reading entire dining reviews in one sitting (I do that with "MickeyNicki" reviews...Nicki takes fabulous pictures & has a very funny way with words. If you haven't read any of her reviews, try them-well worth your time. So far, she & I agree with virtually everything except 1900 Park Fare...they had a terrible time there. Nicki does a great job covering drink reviews too...she's a gal after my own heart!

..I see you're going to be there a week or so ahead of us for free dining...where are you going for table service?

this is what i have planned ( but I keep re-arranging it - those online ADR's are a blessing and a curse )

Chefs de France
tutto Italia
CRT - breakfast
mama melrose
hoop-de-doo
Cali grill
Narcoossee's

Boma
T-rex (oop)
Coral reef
O'Hana's Breakfast

The pink ones are new for us:thumbsup2

Agree about the online reservations...I keep checking for Le Cellier even though I don't actually care to go there this time, lol. Looks like a lot of good eats on your schedule...do come back & give us a review!

We'll be trying Tutto Italia for the first time this Free Dining trip too...celebrating my birthday there. Can't wait!

Thanks so much for your reviews! I opened up an excel file and made some notes while I was reading. We are going in October but staying offsite so no DDP for us. I still hope to have some good food and snacks though!

Had to laugh when I saw this...this is sooo like me! I had so many notes I about had to set up a search to find everything, lol. And it was funny, because everywhere we went, my peeps wanted to know "o.k., what are we supposed to order here?" Didn't work when we went to Sanaa, though...too new so I didn't have much to research on it in advance.

Looks like you're going to be there just a bit after we leave...we arrive 4 weeks from tomorrow for Free Dining...4 new restaurants for us to try on that trip:banana:
