Never Doing Disney Without The DDP Again Report!

Great start! Heada Lettuce was our server the last time we were at Whispering Canyon, and she was so much fun!

Thank you all for reading, this is my first time posting a report so I hope it's all ok.
We ate one night at the Yak and Yeti in the Animal Kingdom. I had never been to this place and the inside was beautiful, I got some shots but not many. Here are a few of the inside.

We both felt like drinks tonight. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri.

My fiance ordered I think the Bonsai Blast, can't remember, but here it is.

Both of our drinks were very good.

We ordered lettuce wraps as an appetizer. They were really really good, spicy and sweet.

I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, it was pretty good, nothing that great. It was a lot of food though, I couldn't even get through half of it.

My fiance ordered shrimp lo mein, and he loved it. He said it was better than anything he'd had at a chinese place at home. :thumbsup2

For dessert we both ordered the cream cheese wontons with grilled pineapple on skewers with vanilla icecream. This was one of my favorite desserts of the trip. I couldn't eat much as I was stuffed from the other food, but I tried, believe me, I tried.

More to come later, as soon as I upload some more pictures onto photobucket. Thank you everyone for reading!

Jakenjess: We both loved Heada Lettuce, she stayed funny and in character throughout dinner. My fiance was not sure he wanted to eat there but I booked a ressie there anyway and it ended up being his favorite dinner of the trip.

Hey neighbor to the north! You're doing great with your report. Yak & Yeti looks good. We'll have to keep that in mind for our next trip.

And like you, I don't think we'll go again without the DDP. We just found it so much more beneficial to us than paying as we go. We did bring a bunch of snacks home, but never felt that we had "too much food". It also worked well that we could get things as a snack that we could eat for breakfast the next day. And that a whole box of entenmann's donuts was 1 snack credit - those lasted us about 4 days.

kelleigh1: Thanks! We stayed off site last trip and on site for this one. I will never stay off site again, the DDP and transportation alone made it worth staying. We loved the DDP, we didn't even look at prices when ordering food, it was beyond nice. And we also got snacks for breakfast the next day as we never needed snacks, and we still had 3 or 4 snacks left over on the last day that we spent on chocolate covered marshmellows for people back home.

I think Goofy's Candy Co. is the last place most people go before they head home - just to use up their snack credits.

Thanks to all who are reading! Next up is Chef Mickey's, unfortunetly for some reason my stomach was not doing so great and so we didn't get any pictures of food, just of the place. They had the normal disney breakfast food though, mickey waffles and pancakes, fruit, donuts, bagels, breakfast pizza, omelets, basically everything you could want fro breakfast was there. Here are a few pictures we did take.

More to come, sorry no real food pictures in this one, again I wasn't feeling well

Last post before I have to go to work :headache:

This review is on the new table service in The Contemporary, The Wave. We made reservations for this place day of and they had openings so we decided to try it. It was my favorite dinner of the trip. They had us wait for about 15 minutes before being seated. While you wait they have a lounge-like area where you can order drinks and appetizers. We decided to both order drinks, I ordered a dark chocolate martini that was quite strong but good, and my fiance ordered a long island iced tea which he said was better than any he had before. He thinks everything is better in disney though (so do I). This is the lounge area and me holding the appetizer and drink menu.

This is the dark chocolate martini I ordered, yum.

This is the martini again with the long island iced tea in the back of it. They had a large drink menu, with newer drinks, such as antioxidant alcoholic beverages. Very different.

We ordered a crab nacho appetizer on a bed of black beans. To be honest I really didn't want to order this it didn't seem that appetizing to me, not a fan of crab or black beans, but fiance wanted to try it so I said why not. I ended up loving them and wishing we'd ordered more. The crab was so good and my fiance and myself left the plate clean.

We both ordered the same entree as it sounded really good. We both ordered fillet mignon with fingerling potatoes, cabernet sauce and greens. It was my favorite dish of the trip. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was so good I asked for more bread to dip in it.

DSC00433.jpg

For dessert they had a menu with 11 choices and we could each pick 3. We both picked different desserts so we could try more of them. They were all so good, I'm really going to try and remember what they were. The ones below from left to right I think were chocolate mousse in a carmel sauce, yogurt gelato with a blueberry composite, and a lemon sorbet. All of these desserts were absolutely amazing and just the right amount.

For my fiance's dessert from left to right he ordered the chocolate mousse with carmel sauce and hazenuts, an orange coconut custard with a piece of chocolate, and raspberry cheesecake. Every dessert was beyond yummy and we will definetly be coming back here on our next trip. Can't say enough good things about this place.

I just realized that we never got our pictures that they took of us in front of the plate. It wasn't part of our Photopass and we never saw anyone about purchasing anything. Darn!!

The Wave looks great. Like you, I dislike beans, but maybe we'll just have to try that anyway. I do have this mexican layer dip that I make with beans that I love despite the beans. And my friend who also hates beans ate almost an entire plate of it herself at a party that we had. Everything looks so good!

The Wave looks and sounds pretty good, might have to change my reservations for Oct AGAIN!!!!!!!
