Hi,

I am just starting to research our trip to Fl for next Aug 2011. Despite coming to the USA 7 + times we have never visited IOA. The main reason being Dh and myself dont like scary rollercoaster rides.

However we really wanna go to see Harry Potter World:wizard:. Hence why we want to visit.

Could you advise what rides are not scary, best places to eat, where to get tickets etc

Also how big is IOA and can anyone help with how we can get there from Disney Boardwalk as we wont have a car - is there a bus, how much for a taxi.

I really appreciate any help
Many thanks

In marval area-spiderman isn't scary but you will want to avoid incredible hulk. the comic book area has two water rides (fyi you will get drenched on popeye). jurasic park- the raft ride isn't a roller coaster but you do go down a big drop and you might get wet. harry potter area-you will not want to go on what was once called dueling dragons. the dr. seuss area, you can go on all those rides.

The place we like to eat is burger digs. They have grilled chicken sandwich and cheeseburgers and a fixin bar.

Don't know the best way to get there because we always have a car. Parking is now $14.

Best place to get tickets is AAA (if you are a member) or undercovertourist.com.

Non Scary rides
Marvel- Spiderman this ride is a must do!, if you like the tea cup type ride there is a storm force one at IOA
Cartoon- two water rides and you will be soaked for days-bring a bathing suit and flip flops
Jurassic Park- also a must do, drop is big at end and you will get a little wet
Suess- all are not scary, Cat in Hat is a must do!
WWoHP- hippogriff ride is easy kiddie coaster, forbidden journey is a motion simulator with surprising moments, must do if you can handle motion sims
If you go to USF also there are many shows and non-scary rides

Best places to eat are in City Walk I like Moe's and Pastamore was ok
In IOA you could try 3 broomsticks
I ate at the pizza place in marvel land and it was ok
must try butterbeer in potterland and some goodies from Honeydukes

Tickets-
buy them online before you leave
US/IOA website has them for 10 bucks cheaper than at park
Costco and AAA sell discount tickets too

Size of Park
IOA will seem tiny compared to WDW parks
I saw all the big things in one day using express pass

Traveling to IOA from Disney
buses will take way too long and are not reliable in FL
a taxi would probably cost 30 or more one way
Mears shuttle has services that you might research
I had a car and it was very quick to get there and park

Good luck with your trip and have fun!!!

If you are a Potter fan you will love the WWoHP...It is truly magical :wizard:

Thank you so much for the detailed reply:thumbsup2

I cant wait to try some butter beer

you are soooo welcome...I can't wait to get back to drink some more!

I'm a real ride chicken and won't do any big roller coasters, anything that spins too much, goes upside down, etc. Having said that I'll ride everything at IOA except for Hulk, Dueling Dragons and the teacup type thing next to Hulk. I haven't been to Harry Potter yet so I can't comment on those rides.

Spiderman is one of my favorite rides in Orlando. There's really nothing to compare it to. Popeye is similar Kali River Rapids in AK. Ripsaw Falls and Jurasic Park are similar to Splash Mountain. I can easily do everything in Suess' Landing.
