For those of you who use an online DVD rental, which do you use and why? Right now Blockbuster is cheaper, but I haven't heard of much feedback. I would be interested in hearing your experiences.

Thanks,
Christina

I just recently switched from Netflix to Blockbuster. The blockbuster DVD come quicker even though the distribution center is near one another.

I like the fact that you can print coupons to use at your local store as well.

Netflix has served me well over the year and a half I've used them. I cannot stand Blockbuster, and Netflix would have to screw me over royally before I'd switch to Blockbuster.

Netflix. Been w/ them since July 2002 and have no complaints. They had a bit of a slow period a month or so ago, but are back to normal now. I usually get my DVD's before the day the email says they'll arrive.

NetFlix for about 6 months now. My experience with them is pretty much as Annette_VA described. And I agree w/snoopy, can't stand Blockbuster.

Just got my 2 movies in the mail today from Netflix, "The Forgotten" & "The Grudge".

I signed up with Netflix because they were cheaper at the time. I also have lingering irritation from Blockbuster so I will stick with Netflix. Although Blockbuster has an enticing offer that is for sure!

I've used both, have Blockbuster now. We don't watch a lot of movies so speed and selection aren't a huge deal. It's just nice to have movies in the house to watch if we feel like it. Switched to Blockbuster because it was cheaper, offers the instore coupons and I got a coupon for a free copy of Shrek II for signing up.

Have Netflix for almost a year now, love it - quick, great variety, little wait.

I refuse to give Blockbuster my money, so that's not an option for me ;)

I am using Blockbuster because it is only $15 for 3 movies out at a time and the two free rentals in the store each month. We use the coupons to rent video games which are $7 each and with the no more late fees, I keep them about 2 weeks at a time. Seems to me like I am only paying $1 a month for the DVDs since my kids love to rent video games. They have also been shipping the movies a little faster these days. I think they may have added more distribution centers.

We switched from Netflix to Blockbuster a couple of months ago. The service is the same but slightly cheaper. We get three movies at a time for $14.99/month plus two instore coupons to use for movies, games, etc. As zaxmom said the cost is negligible when you consider what you normally play to rent games. With the movies we always have one kid movie and two grown up movies. We just manipulate our queue when we get ready to send something back.

We use Blockbuster the price is less and I use the 2 in-store coupons for PS2 games and keep them for 1 or 2 weeks. So this seems to work for us. It's also nice to have the some movies for the week or so. I have been getting them before the initial arrival time.  Good Luck!

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Netflix here, have used them for about one year. Love it...so easy and have never had a problem. Blockbuster on the other hand...when we used them we had SO many problems so I would never consider switching now.

I have Netflix. I am going to stick with them because I am tired of Big corporations trying to squeeze the little guy out.

I get my movies very quickly, they have a great selection, and I love the friends feature.

Try them both out for a free trial and see which one works best for you. :)

I've been a Netflix member 2 years (next month) and have only had a couple minor problems with them in all that time. Nothing to complain about. They recently lowered their price from $21.99/month to $17.99/month. I can't think of any other company that has lowered their price on anything!! So I am definitely staying with Netflix. I almost always receive my movies a day or two before the date the e-mail says they will come.

We've used Blockbuster for two months now. We really like it so far. It's a pretty quick turnaround (three to four days from when we mail the old to when we recieve the new), and we like the in store coupons. We haven't really had any problems, except when we received one that was cracked. All we had to do was report it (just clicked on "DVD was damaged/unplayable" and that was that.) They sent us another copy of the movie right away.

There didn't seem to be much to distinguish NetFlix from Blockbuster, so we just chose Blockbuster because it's cheaper and you get the free in store rentals.

I HATE Netflix. I was a netflix customer for almost 3 years. I started to have a problem with them not receiving my movies. I REALLY did send them in, but for some reason they weren't receiving them. So the froze my account for 7 BUSINESS days. I still got charged for those days, but I couldn't rent any movies. I wrote an email complaining and I got one of those form letter responses. I called customer service where the guy basically told me to mail the movies from a different post office b/c it was probably their fault. :confused3 I asked for compensation for my acct being frozen and still being charged for it. Nope, not gonna happen. So I will never do business with them again.

I use Walmart.com & haven't had the first problem with them! I think they even have a free month trial! And it's about $12.97 per month.
