I got an e-mail today that Netflix lowered the price of my 3-disc plan from $17.99 to $16.99 as of my next bill. This is at least the 2nd time I remember them doing this. And they do it automatically. You don't have to call and request or change your plan or anything. Wish more companies would operated this way.

Okay now they are CHEAPER than Blockbuster.
I have been very UNHAPPY with customer service from Blockbuster online.
Sometimes my Que sits for a couple of days without them sending me anything,,,,

It takes 2-3 days for movies to arrive......

And every new release has long waits....

How is Netflix customer service?

only perk with BB is you get the 2 free new release rentals....

We've been Netflix customers for 3 years and have had very little complaints. Very rarely do movies take more than 2 - 3 days turn around (slower this time of year due to amount of mail being processed by the post office).

we've had two movies get "lost" in three years time (both at the beginning of our membership) and they sent out a new one immediately.

We highly recommend them :)

No email here yet, but I'm sure they will catch up with me.

Awesome news. :cool1: :cool1:

We love Netflixs. Over the last several years of having them, we've only had a handful of problems. Always, with the exception of once I believe, our next movie is shipped immediately. Turn around from my house to Netflix is 1 day. Turn around back from Netflix to my house is 1 day. What better service could I ask for.

And, we turn our movies around very quickly. Here today, gone most likely within the next couple days back to Netflix.

We've had Netflix for about 2 years and have had no problems at all. Actually, about 2 weeks ago we received our first damaged disc - came cracked. I went online and reported it, mailed it right back and had a replacement disc about 3 days later. I love their service.

We love netflix, I dont think you can go wrong!!!!! We have only been a member for 6 months, but when gas was $3.39 I wasnt driving 20 min. (we live in the sticks) to get a movie that might be there! I just walk to my mailbox and I love it. We have 2 ques going one for us and one for DD.

i got the email too! I love Netflix! their selection is amazing. i've found films on there that i've wanted to see for years but my local stores never carried them. turnaround time is usually 2 days from when i send it out to when i get a new movie back. yeay netflix! :cheer2:

Yay!

I got this for DH for Christmas! OK, it's really for the entire family. OK, it's really for me. LOL!

Ditto here!

This is interesting as I have heard more bad about Netflix then BB. We use BB and usually get our movies the next day or the day after and they usually get marked returned the next day or day after we send them too..not many problems getting new movies in fact we got Must Love Dogs today which just came out

UUUGHHHH!!!!!!!!
I was decided..............You weren't supposed to post that!!!!! :rotfl2:

Thanks Disneysteve...we don't have cable and have been using netflix for several months...it has been working really well for us. I have the 2 DVD plan now, but I think I will upgrade to the 3 :teeth: Then a DVD for DH, one for me and one for the kids :cheer2:

We've been Netflix customers since February of 2001! Found out about it when we overheard some ppl talking about it while waiting for a table at a restaurant. We've gone back and forth between 3 at a time and 6 at a time. Right now we have 6 at a time (2 for me, 2 for dh, 2 for the kids--I LOVE having separate queues!!)

We've had various problems, but considering we've had them for almost FIVE years, the problems are few and far between. Discs have been lost getting to us, and getting to them (one showed up 4 months later!!) We've had two broken discs. Everytime Netflix has immediately shipped out a new disc.

Our turn around time used to be about 5-6 days back in the days when the discs were going between Ohio and California. Then they got a distribution center in Cleveland and it went to about 4 days. Now there is one in Dayton (an hour from us) and we ship one back and usually have the next disc 2 days later!

We've gotten several Netflix gift certificates and with the exception of one, they have all been LOVED (that one, I just found out, was never redeemed, so *I* recently redeemed it and applied it to my own account!! so now for the next year I get 6 at a time for $13!)

Three cheers for Netflix!

Also I think that the mail time for your movies depend on your how close you are to their center where they mail the movies from (I believe they have several across the country). We had them 1-1/2 year ago no problems just was cutting back on lots of extras and they were first to go. Also there was a class action suit filed against them we got our notice in the mail last month....but I was very pleased with their service and if I signed up for a service they would be the one.

Another big cheer for Netflix! We've been customers for about a year and a half and have had NO problems! They are quick to ship and have a great selection. We love the service.

We tried Blockbuster too and was unhappy with that service.

Netflix has a ton of distribution sites now. We have one here in Austin, so we get fast turn around. We always get new releases with no problem. Have been getting all the Christmas movies this week, no waiting for them either. If I drop the disc in a post office box (that gets picked up multiple times a day) before 2pm Netflix records it as in that night or early the next morning and then sends out my next movie that day. So we have had many times we dropped a movie off in the morning and had the next one the next day! I am luckey because my house gets late delivery, around 4 pm. If I am not going past a PO drop box and put it in my mailbox it takes an extra day sometimes two to get my next movie. I just checked. Last month we went through 17 movies. Pretty good for under $20. I think we average more like 12-14- I had a cold last month and was watching a movie a day for a week there.

I love the selection on Netflix too. And the CS is great.

Blockbuster lost any chance of me ever using them for anything a long time ago. Over late fees, what else. They have NO customer service and they have very misleading advertising out there. I would pay more to *not* use BB, happily I don't have to ;)

We've tried both and prefer Blockbuster mainly due to the added feature of the free in store rentals plus free previously viewed DVDs several times per year. Any time we've had a long wait for a new release, we just take the free rental coupon to the store to get it.

The great Blockbuster Online/Netflix debate is a huge case of YMMV. I think a great deal has to do with your local distribution center. Some are more accurate than others, and if they are close to your house, it will make a huge difference in your turnaround time.

I was a Netflix subscriber for a while, but quit after a little more than a year just to save some money. Later I took advantage of a free trial with Blockbuster. The only good thing about it was the coupons for free store rentals. In the 4 months we had Blockbuster, I received 2 broken discs and 2 incorrect movies none of which were re-sent after I reported them broken/incorrect. In over a year with Netflix, I only had one disc that wouldn't play, due to a scratch. Turnaround time for me was 2-3 times faster with Netflix.

I've since switched back to Netflix, and it's even better than before; there's a new distribution center in Birmingham so my turnaround is now 1 day instead of 2. I also switched from 3-at-a-time to 2-at-a-time, which brought the cost way down.
