Nervous Flyer Going Solo

I am trying to see if there is anyway for someone who is not traveling to go through security and wait for the plane to leave with someone who has difficulties. She is an adult, but not being alone for several hours before hand would make the solo flight much easier.

I have heard a little bit about a 'concourse pass' but really have no ideas.
She will be flying from ABIA to MCO via Southwest. Thanks for any help.

When is she flying? I fly in/out of ABIA all the time.

Also...no need to be alone inside the secure side of the terminal for "hours"...the security lines are usually not all that long there for one. Even when checking bags I usually plan to arrive at ABIA about 1.5 hours before a flight.

With the SW boarding policy, one option may be to go ahead and get to the airport and check bags...then hang out with your friend/relative/scared flyer on the "public side" of security until only about 50 min or so before the flight, then send her through security (usually through within 20 min) and over to the gate on her own. Most of the SW gates are pretty near the main 2 security checkpoints.

OR...you can purchase a fully refundable ticket on SW on your CC for a later flight that day, and go through security with her...then don't actually go anywhere, but go on home and cancel your flight and get your refund.

You have two options:

#1 When you check the person in ask for a "gate pass" for yourself. Some agents will readily give them out, others will not. I have helped my family check in and even though I was not traveling with them the agent offered me a pass so I could take them into the club. I have also had agents deny me a gate pass when asking for one.

#2 Buy a one way refundable ticket either online before you get to the airport or at the checkin counter. Check-in as normal, go through security with your friend, then call the airline and cancel your ticket.

Personally I would choose option two because it guarantees you the ability to get through security without having to fight the check-in agent for a gate pass.

Thanks for the help. She will be flying out at about 12:30 on the second of September. She will be pre-boarding. I know she will be alright and so does she. This will be here first solo trip. I am just a bit afraid for her because she will have had some anti-anxiety medication and I'd rather her not be alone and a bit out of it.

Don't mind me I am just stressing over the last minute details.
