Nervous About LeCellier

We just got back on the Wed and one of our meals were at Le Cellier. I have to say it was great. I had the cheese soup which was super, and the LeCellier Filet Mignon it was so good, makes my mouth water thinking of it.

Our server was very friendly, the whole staff was. And we were not rushed at all. Have a great time and don't worry. :flower:

LeCellier is the best!! We dined there in Jan 2005 with our daughter and her boyfriend. We all had something different and all raved about each of our meals. The service was also excellent. Have a great time!!

Hey! I was just there last week and it was fantastic. Actually the ONLY restaurant we would go back to after the 4 other we tried! It is rated number 2 on property because the food is so amazing and our service was just as good. It was our anniversary and from the moment we walked in they kept congratulating us! We got a free surprise dessert and a card signed by the entire wait staff. You MUST try Le Cellier. You just don't want to miss it...we plan to make sure we eat there every Disney trip from now on! Good luck! :cool1:

We just ate there on our trip in Sept. Myself, husband, and two kids (6 and 4) were there for lunch. It was NOT to write home about. The food was not nearly as good as the Outback Steakhouse. We all four ordered steak for lunch. Our bill as $135.00- thank goodness it was free with the dining plan. I really doubt we will ever go here again! It was more fancy than the food was good!

I can't speak for service- that can be a toss up. We went to lunch and were in and out in about an hour and 15 minutes. I know for dinner I've read that it can take 2 hours (which I think is really great if you don't have little kids to contend with). Just an aside (and I realize this is Disney so everyone is on the go) but I think the attitude in this country is one of shovel and go. In Europe the attitude is to enjoy your meal and savor it. Again, I realize this is all fine and nice if you don't have little ones- I'm talking about couples and those with older kids or kids who can behave well in restaurants (mine are not in that group!)
But I'm going to say this, (I'll give the disclaimer unless something is wrong in the kitchen), but anyone who tells you that the food at Le Cellier is so so or just average doesn't know crap about good food. I know things can be off, or not well cooked- but if your meat is cooked how you like it- you will enjoy your meal- rest assured. One guy across from us ordered the kid's hot dog plate. Not that I sit around and dwell on it, but I've tried to come up with all kinds of reasons someone wouldn't try such good food- like he needed a light meal, didn't feel well, really had a bizarre hankering for a hot dog!
Give Le Cellier a try- particularly if you are on the meal plan- its a great deal- (the only thing I might avoid there though is the lobster and steak special- that is one thing I think I agree with- their lobster doesn't sound too good!)
Good luck and have a great time!

I was so looking forward to finally trying LeCellier in January but I am a bit nervous since all of the bad reviews. Granted , there have been great reviews as well but the service is what appears to be lacking, depending on your server. My sister's family lives in FL and will be joining us for a couple of days and we were going to celebrate my DH's birthday at LeCellier. There will be 8 people in our party. I want a leisurely dinner but it sounds like some service issues goes beyond the leisurely point. Should I change restaurants or do you think things will improe now that the free dining is over?

We ate at LeCellier two weeks ago. We were a party of 11. It took us a while to get seated, even with a PS. The restaurant was running about 20 minutes behind. The manager came out periodically to let us know how things were going. Once seated, we were in a very back section and had an entire section to ourselves. It was GREAT! Our server was Emily, and we were her only tables. The food was fantastic, Emily was completely on the ball and very good with the kids. It was the best meal of the trip.

Don't let a couple of bad reviews change your mind. Le Cellier is a great restaurant!

just remember a lot of recent reviews were during the crazy free dining days and service had to be abnormal.

Le Cellier is one of our favorites at WDW. You will hear good and bad about everything, you just have to try it for yourself.

Hi,

We were just at Le Cellier this past weekend. I have to say in the past, we have not been huge fans of Le Cellier (entrees anyway), we have always loved the appetizers and salads. Anyway, hubby had the mussels appetizer, he said it was very good, I had the cheese soup of course as it is always wonderful. For our entrees we both had the filet with a white truffle cream sauce and a mushroom risotto. It was very very good. So, we will in the future give some of the other entrees a chance. The host told us that Le Cellier had been recently given the 5 star dining award. However, this I do not believe, as the service definately is not 5 star quality.

Anyway, go and enjoy your meal, we are very critical when it comes to fine dining, as we have been lucky enough in our travels to try some wonderful places. Le Cellier has definately improved since our last visit.

Well I know we are planning on going and since January is typically a slower time I am especially not worried. We also usually try to eat at off times. My husband thinks that 5:30pm is LATE :rotfl: for dinner so the places are usually empty :love2:

my family of 6 just ate there thursday nite, and it was greeeeat... :goodvibes :goodvibes my dh had never eaten here b/4 and said this was his favorite meal. the cheese soup was fab, as were my dh mussels.
the whole meal was great not one complaint, from apps., to desserts to the great ice wine martini. for the price its great.(better then previous nite at chef mickeys :( :( )

We just returned today from WDW. We dined last night at LeCellier and I was not disappointed...We dine there everytime we go....I love it there...The servers do vary greatly in personality, but last night we had Claude and also we celebrated my DD's 15th birthday. He was just great!!! Our favorite server to date there. Have a great time when you go!!! :flower:

Don't worry! We had HORRIBLE service, but the food was so good we will be going again! :)

We ate at Le Cellier for the first time this past June and everyone LOVED it, even DD14 who is not a big fan of steaks. We learned about the fabulous cheese soup from the boards and it was wonderful. Everything was wonderful. It was very crowded inside, but our server was excellent and the experience was great. Hope you go and have a wonderful meal!

We ate there this past Thursday, was great atmosphere and great food. DH had the sirloin, said there was a little more fat on it then he would of liked. I had the filet, which was excellent! Also, couldn't pass up the Icewine Martini, which was great too! And the bread they give you was really good, loved the pretzel bread, so did our dd who is 14 months old.

We were also recently there and had GREAT service as well as GREAT food. We also had Claude as a waiter as a previous poster had mentioned. He was a fantastic waiter. I will be writing Disney a really nice letter about him. He treated us as royalty, and we were on the FREE dining plan. He even brought out a complimentary Chocolate Moose when our desserts took a little longer than normal to reach our table. If they will allow you to request a waiter, I would highly recommend Claude!
