Neopets is a great free online game!

My daughter signed up for neopets and I have become totally addicted!!! It is a free virtual pet. You can play games, build your pet a home, your pet can even have his own pet. It is totally free! I have included the link if anyone is interested in checking it out! My daughter gets extra points for anyone who signs up.

While it is fun, I have seen many "pets" with VERY inapproriate names. Names my children wanted explained & at 7 & 10 were too young to hear about, I do not allow my children on that site anymore.

neopets is all the rage for our kids and their friends- just a couple of warnings- there are a lot of adults on this game-which is an online community,the opportunity for others to send and receive unsolicited email in the game,and it's not pretend- I'm sure this is a place for those with bad intentions to lurk.
Also ,and this is a BIGGIE- the site is full of spyware and virus problems- I lost my computer 2 months ago, after my dk's discovered it-
they now have their own computer, and if it's infected,it's not mine... they run adaware,a spyware removal program every day, it finds and removes about 50 A DAY- last week, our mcaffee ran a virus scan and found 493 viruses(that's not a typo)
so if you want -use the site- my kids adore it. They aren't allowed to have the email option, and they know to check with me if they run across anything that sounds"funny'- most questionable names are caught by the mids, and deleted anyway.
Run a spyware program every day, and back up your files, you may need them someday. Disney VMK also leaves behind a lot of unwanted junk in dk's computer,and that's their 2nd favorite site....
