Nemo worth the wait?

I have been twice since Nemo opened and we have skipped it both times. My understanding is that even if you run there first thing it will be close to an hour before you finish the ride. I am not willing to spend my first hour on one, not unbelievable, ride. And for the rest of the day the waits are just crazy. Am I missing something? I am going in October with some in-laws who will probably want to do it. Should I try to talk them out of it?

I think the ride itself is VERY good and definitely worth the wait. The ride itself is maybe 10 or so mins. If you go first thing in the morning and end up being one of the first ones on the ride, you shouldn't have to wait very long if at all.
:)

I was there in April and we went to Nemo right when the park opened. We waited for maybe 5 minutes, rode the ride and then were headed to Space Mountain. Total time could not have been more than 20 minutes.

I really enjoyed the ride, but forgot how cramped the subs are. Not much of a seat when you get in.

Have a good trip. I am hoping to get back there in October myself.

It's a really cute ride and definitely worth seeing! Saw it last winter but missed it on our trip last week.

We arrived early for MM (7:20 a.m. and ended up being 1st in line!), which allowed us to be among the 1st to get in queue for Nemo. HOWEVER...rrrrr...Nemo had some technical issues so we were told there was at least a 30 minute wait. And that was it for us. So long Nemo! C-Ya! We went straight to Space Mountain! :lmao: After that the lines were constantly long so we never got to ride it.

Nemo is worth a 25 minute or less wait, but no way no how would I wait more than that. ;)

I loved the ride & if you're going in Oct maybe it won't be too busy. We did it in Jan & the wait was 20 min at night, & we'd already done everything else we wanted to do.

I have to say that I tried something during my trip in Feb. that I read on the boards before I went. If you go to Nemo right before the park closes, the line is almost nonexistent, and you will get to ride regardless of how long the line is. Supposedly, if you are in line before park closing time, you will get to ride. It worked!!! Only 5 min. wait with no "running" for the line in the morning!

It's really cute, but not worth an hour wait no. We've never waited more then 15 minutes to ride it. Both times were first thing in the morning.

Depending on when you go in October, it can be VERY busy. So if it's a time where it's packed, I'd say I'd only try it first thing in the morning, or last at night.

I only waited about thirty minutes in early November. It was cute to see once, but it's not something I'd go on again.

The other option is to go to the side room and watch the video (where you can actually hear the story line and realize there is a plot to the ride). All you have to do is go to the front of the line (outside of the queue) and ask the CM at the front to watch the video. The room is to the right of the loading area and has a red/green light above the door (red light means someone is in the room and you have to wait until they are done when the light turns green and the CM will let you in). It comfortably holds a group of about 12, and you avoid standing in any kind of line. You don't get in the sub but you do see everything you would have seen. I would still recommend going on the sub once, but after that the only way I'll do it is in the side room (although I am tempted to do it at the close if the line is really that short). Just another option...

DO IT! I really liked it and it was a great start to our day. I recommend carrying a coffee and pastry into line with you and enjoying it while you maneuver through the queue.

I think it's worth waiting for if the line is 30 minutes or less. I don't think it's worth an hour wait. I think the lines aren't as bad as they used to be (in general) because it's been open for awhile now. We went on it back in november or december. We had no intention of going on it since we had heard the wait was so long and our time was limited but we were walking by at about 10am on a saturday and the wait was only 20 mintues so we decided to go for it! I think you should be able to find a time to go on it when the wait isn't bad.

I went with two 11yr old girls who both thought it was very boring. Nemo at WDW Epcot is so much better done with the animations and effects and story line.

We waited almost 45 mins but my 4-yr old thoroughly enjoyed the ride/show so to us it was worth it. It depends on how much your kids are into it, I guess. Some of the effects are pretty cool - almost hologram-like.

HTH

I'd go on it again but ONLY if it was a walk on. I wouldn't wait in line for it (we only had to wait about 15 min). None of us really enjoyed it but the friends that we were with (2 adults) loved it. Depends on the individual I guess. :confused3

That's really interesting, I didnt know they had that room. I went last year 4 days post op a fractured pelvis. Smart me, I went and did the ride and hopped on the one leg inside and out of the submarine. Wish I had known

We went about 11pm during Spring Break and had just a 5 min wait and boy, we would have been peeved if we had waited an hour or more for it!

It's cute enough but definitely not worth a wait - that was day one of our 6 day visit and we didn't bother trying to ride it again - and the kids never requested it.

My boys (9 and 6) thought it was pretty boring - and they're big fans of the Nemo movie - there just wasn't enough Nemo stuff in it I thought.

Ouch! Yes, that room is for those in a wheel chair that can't transfer. But I'm pretty sure they let anyone over there. Especially in the condition you were in!

It really does depend on the individual. We like it, but I really don't think ANY ride is worth an hour wait anymore. It amazes me to see people waiting in line for that Storybook Canal boats for over an hour. I was almost bored to tears several years back when we went on it! :rotfl:

Anyone can go to the observation room and see the show. I actually prefer it to the subs.

That's the handicap access room since the subs are unable to accommodate wheelchairs. I've have also known people who tend to get claustrophobic use this room too.
