Anyone know when this opens? We are considering going to DL late July/first week in August. Is the ride going to be wheelchair accessible?

Thanks,
Christamae

Last I heard the official target for opening is June 11th but of course there is a big chance of missing that with some of the problems that have set them back. I'd say July and August you are pretty safe, it will be open.

Unless something has radically changed, there is no way that wheelchairs can go on. You will have to transfer and get down into the sub somehow.

What kind of problems have they had with it?

I can't wait to see it!

From what I've been told (and this is from former DL president, Matt Oiumet), they will have a "walk-thru" type area so that the wheelchair bound and the clausterphobic can still see the scenery w/o actually getting into a sub.

Wow, Iceskatejen, I hadn't heard that yet!! That's pretty neat. I can't wait, we will be there till the 12th and I am wholheartedly counting on some soft openings the week before!!!

Has anyone heard about a "preview" for the Nemo ride for annual passholders? I know they did one a few weeks before they released Tower of Terror.

Very little news on this. See www.miceage.com/allutz/al022007a.htm.

Even if the opening date slips a week or two, the ride will still be opening sometime this summer and TDA planners are focusing their energy like a laser beam to ensure the opening and subsequent daily operation go as smoothly as possible once the voyages begin. Unlike recent new attractions at Disneyland, there will be very little time for extensive "soft openings" in the weeks before the grand opening. As it stands now, there may only be one or two days of soft opens before the press descend for the grand opening ceremonies currently scheduled for June 10th and 11th.

Just did the Nemo ride at Epcot last week, the ride at DL should be very cool and so much better then Epcots Nemo. The technology is very cool. Can't wait for my next trip to California to see it. I always like the sub ride, it has been shut down for years, glad to see what is promising to be a very cool ride.
