Nemo Question

I've read a lot of posts saying not to do Nemo during EE. The thing is that going on it first thing is our plan. It is just my boyfriend and I and we don't mind not getting a whole lot else done. So that is fine right? I assume it is advised to do it later in the evening IF you want to get all the other stuff in right? Basically I've perfected my plans over the years and this is how I would attack any new attraction but from reading these boards it sometimes seems like going on Nemo is the absolute worst plan ever in the history of planning and doing so is just crazy.

I've battled long lines before...the longest I remember being there the week Indy first opened.

I think that is all...so just wondering if there is some crazy phenomenon that I have yet to encounter.

Thank you!!

I am no expert, but I was there on Monday and the line was still VERY long at 7:15, 45 minutes before closing. I don't know exactly how long it was, but it was the same length as it had been all day long. We passed it 4-5 times throughout the day and it never looked any shorter. I personally think I would rather get the wait over with first. I wouldn't want to spend the end of the evening waiting in that long line. That's just my opinion though.

That is my thinking as well. We are going to be there on Saturday and also Monday so our plan was to go to Nemo first during EE on Saturday and play the rest by ear. Then on Monday our plan is to start in Fantasyland first thing and play it by ear. I really just plan the first half hour or so of each day and then the rest is up to the magic of Disney :wizard:

Hi again!

We stayed at Paradise Pier in September, and therefore had two days of EE. The first day we planned to go to Fantasyland, but then veered off and found the Nemo line, and went on it instead. We were through the line, the ride, and off in about half an hour. We felt it was a good use of that time, and then we went on some Tomorrowland rides that were open during EE too.

The second EE day we went to Fantasyland.

The main recommendation to NOT go on Nemo during EE is because so many people only have ONE day for that, and most people would rather go to Fantasyland during that time. One ride in 35 minutes, or 4...that's the idea. I think also that recommendation is pretty heavily for people with kids who desperately want to go to Fantasyland and have a hard time waiting.

Since it's just you two and waiting in line probably won't be a time of tantrums and low blood sugar attacks and whining (I hope not) and needing to go potty NOW, if you want to go on Nemo more than you want to go through Fantasyland really quickly, then go on Nemo!

And of course if you're there before opening on non-EE days you can rush to Nemo or Fantasyland just as well as you can rush on an EE day. :upsidedow

That was my thinking almost perfectly. I would agree then with a just one day visit. I haven't been on Nemo yet I'm really really excited. I loved that movie and I loved the subs when I was little.

I also assume so many "warnings" are mostly for families with small children.

Nice to hear from ya! :)

Almost the same here. We were in DL in December & had 1 EE day. My parents walked towards Nemo while we stopped for a few autographs (my dad walks pretty slow, & sometimes will get a scooter), so we caught up w/them right when they got in line (yes we had to cut a little, but there was only 3 of us & they were only 10-20 people from the back).

Anyway, we were probably through in 45 min & the line really never stoped for long when it did.

I would say 1st thing on EE would be the way to go. It was so long later on in the days that we saw - I would never want to wait for it that long.

Ohhh, good question! I figured since we will be traveling with two small kiddos that this is going to be the first ride that we will want to do with our one EE.
Do most people recommend this ride for EE or another part of DL?? Also is there anyway you can buy more EE??

Lilypaige, EE is for Fantasyland and some of Tomorrowland, Nemo is included in that. With little kids, they generally might want to go on Peter Pan, Dumbo, Alice, and maybe Snow White, Pinocchio, and Mr Toad's Wild Ride MORE than they want to go on Nemo.

Those rides in Fantasyland have traditionally LONG lines. If you time it wrong, it can take ages to get through all of FL b/c of those lines. That's why it's suggested for those with little kids to use their EE day to play in Fantasyland, because the rides can be so much shorter than they will be once the park opens to everyone else.

That said, one could simply go to Fantasyland very first thing on a day where there is no early entry. THere are more people flooding the gates, but you could still rush over there and have shorter lines than there will be the rest of the day.

Same goes for Nemo, though.

So it's really up to you, which you think is more worth it to your kids. Spend your time in the park with fewer people while waiting and riding Nemo, or spend that time going on several rides in Fantasyland.

As for more EE days...if you buy a package through getawaytoday.com, they are offering two days. Actually it's not EE anymore, it's Magic Mornings (MM).

Alternatively, if you are staying at one of the three DLR hotels, it's an unadvertised but going-on-for-years perk that you get EE (MM) each day that it is offered during your stay.

If you are spending more than one day at Disneyland I would go to Fantasyland for EE and go to Nemo very first ride on a regular entry day. We just did this during the Christmas holiday ( I do not think it gets any busier than this).

We went straight to Fantasyland with our EE and made it through all of Fantasyland in 45 minutes with 2 children.

On our second day at Disneyland non EE we went straight to Nemo and only waited 15 minutes and the ride itself is 15 minutes.

Take into consideration I was at the gate 1 hour before the park opened and we were the first in line at the turnstyles. Remember this was Christmas so I do not think you need to get to the park an hour early, but probably at least 30 minutes before opening.

I was at Disneyland in July of '07, for two days. Both days, Nemo CONSTANTLY had a long line. All day, too! So we didn't get to go on it, despite wanting to. And the line was freakin' huge! It was crazy. We decided to just go on other rides, rather than wait in that big...big...BIG line...:rotfl2:

I think you guys should do it only if there is a reasonable wait. But good luck!

Hadn't it just opened, something like the month before, though?

EE aside, in September my brother and I rode it towards the end of the afternoon on a Saturday, and the line said 40 minutes, the line LOOKED really really long, but it moved quickly and it was only a 25, 30 minute wait, and a pleasant one at that. Easy to have a conversation. :)

Have I mentioned here not to believe the sign telling you how long the wait will be? CMs have told me more than once that it's padded, and that has been my experience as well.

Can't remember if I mentioned that here or not.

I love all of the responses and suggestions :yay:

The plan is to head straight to Nemo Saturday morning during MM. We have 2 full days there both Saturday and Monday. The two of us will be just fine :woohoo:

I am really excited to go on BTMRR it is my favorite and has been since I was little. (I know this is a sidenote that has nothing to do with anything, but we are driving down tomorrow and I'm really really really excited):upsidedow

Hey, the last time I was at DL was in 95 just after Indy opened too... I was actually wondering about that. I was only 11, so I don't remember how long we would wait in line, but I remember the lines were looong. We did ride Indy several times during our trip though.
So what i was wondering is, would the waiting times be comparable?
