Neighbor Rant!

I don't know what my neighbors do, but every night they are banging around so bad it literally shakes my apartment. Last night I was talking to my boyfriend online and asked him if a gunshot was obvious. I was pretty sure that's not what the noise I heard was, but I haven't been around guns. He assured me it was so I let it go.

Just now, somebody did something, I don't know what, but it literally felt like an earthquake. It's probably the worst it's been. I have no clue what somebody could possibly be doing that would shake another person's apartment like that, nor do I know where it's coming from so there's not much I can do about it. Argh.

It could just be a poorly built apartment. My old neighbor complained so much about our thumping that we moved. Thing is, we weren't doing anything out of the ordinary. The landlord told me not to worry about it since that was just the nature of those first floor apartments, but I hated having to worry about every step I took.

I have lived here for close to two years now and have never had a problem with this before now. I also live on the second/top floor.

The apartment below me just changed hands and I think it is them. It has been...interesting. Before the switch it was literally all single females on our side of the building. (Four apartments on each side, two up, two down). This new person is male, and there is a constant rotation of people so that I don't know who besides the one man actually lives there. They have had screaming matches at the top of their lungs, and there have been times I have felt very thankful that nobody in the building has small children.

They also smoke and tend to leave their door open. Our staircase is indoors so it makes the whole staircase smell like cigarette smoke. My neighbor who lives across from me has already had it out with them. She is most likely schizophrenic (hears voices, talks to/yells at voices), so it's been kind of interesting.

Despite their flaws, the man is very nice and I've just sort of held my tongue about the issues. However, this booming and shaking is starting to set me on edge. It just happened again, but I still don't know for sure it's that apartment and not the one on the other side of the wall. I also have no idea what they could be doing. It's like mini explosions.

Some people are just oblivious to the fact that their noise can bug people.
We live on a couple acres and my back neighbor has the biggest mouth on earth! Him, his kids even his dog YAP ALL THE TIME! I think he likes his own voice and assumes we do too. He's wrong.

My upstairs neighbors are CRAZY noisy. I SWEAR that it sounds like the are bowling up there sometimes. I cant figure out what else would make just that sound.

Wow! I never even considered that, but I'm pretty sure that it would be very difficult and rather painful to make the kind of noises and banging that I'm hearing.

I'm not entirely sure he's single. Among the other rotating visitors is a young girl who I believe might be his daughter. He also leaves the windows to the master bedroom open 24/7. I hae to walk by it to take my puppies to the potty area, and I have never seen a bed in there.

Could he be lifting weights? My daughter's dance class used to meet in a room below a gym. Although people in the gym were asked to put weights down carefully sooooo many people just seemed to drop them - and the noise and shaking was so frightening for the kids that we moved the dance class to another venue.

If he's dropping weights like that then there's a danger that he could damage the floor/ceiling ...
