Two days ago, my sister and her 3 DS's were in town visiting. We all went out to play. My dh set up a little ramp for the kids to ride their bikes and scooters over. They were riding on the sidewalk. My next door neighbor had his cars blocking the sidewalk. No big deal. The kids would go near were the cars were, turn around and go over the ramp. They were having a blast. After a few minutes of being outside, the neighbor yells at the kids to stay away from his cars ( the kids never touched the car--If they did, I could see his point) and shakes his head a DH who is next to the ramp. DH was livid!! He was ready to go over and yell at the neighbor. Instead, he moved the ramp and set up some cones that were a barrier the kids would not be let to go over. Would you be upset about this incidence? Our other neighbor said that he would have told the neighbor where to go! We always have been pleasent to the neighbor inviting him over for dinner, watching his animals when they go on vacation, etc. This is the sencond time he has gotten mad at us for no real good reason.

I believe in my neighborhood it is illegal to block the sidewalk with your car. If that is the case in your neighborhood, then he was in the wrong.

If you plan to stay there, be nice, even if it kills you. We moved a registered 1987 monte carlo that was parked in from of OUR house because my neighbor didn't like it. Of course she didn't say that, she hinted at a safety issue. (huh)? We moved it and were gracious about it. Who knows what is going on in people's lives that make them irritable. She felt bad afterward, although she didn't tell me. She baked a batch of cookies, brought them over and thanked us. She also told me about some of the medical concerns that she has had lately. It is always better to be nice.

I would ignore this occassional anger because it is much better to put up with that than to have open hostility between neighbors. That can get really hairy and I'd do all I can to avoid it. Although I doubt I'd be issuing very many dinner invitations in the future, lol.

Some people make it very hard to "love thy neighbor" don't they?
