My neighbor is such a jerk. I'm trying to be nice but this guy just gets on my every last nerve. He's been nasty to us since we've moved in here despite the fact that we are very civil to him. My understanding is that he was this way with the people we bought the house from as well.
Anyways, first let me say I love animals. I would never intentionally ever want to see one hurt or suffer. That said, this guy started by feeding every single stray cat that came around. He'd leave bowls of food outside all over his front lawn. Then he added bird feeders which I think are great. Well, one became two, then two became--you get it.
We've got outside to find peanut shells thrown all over (which just blow on to our lawn, etc.). Now he's not content. He still does all the above, but now he's added throwing bird seed and bread all over the ground. He has a huge, huge Xmas tree and all you see if this stuff. First, it looks bad between the bowls, seed, etc.
Now he's feeding the local ducks. We started with one or two and as of now, it's grown to "HUNDREDS." No I'm not kidding. I'm tired of going outside and finding duck *^%%^ all over my car, etc. There have been times my doors and windows are covered in it.
More importantly, they are obviously leaving feces behind and I'm worried about the attraction of rodents! Now, we don't live in a rural setting. In fact, our homes are very close together. Now he's attracting deer. My husband almost hit one pulling in our driveway the other night. He never saw it standing in our driveway while another was eating the damn bird seed.
He doesn't give a darn at all. There's absolutely no sense talking to him. We've called the town we live in and there are no ordinances in place at all so they won't do a darn thing.
I've had it! I'm totally fed up. They will be here all winter and more will be attracted at this rate. You can't even drive up our street because the ducks won't move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dog goes nuts each time he sees them and the ducks aren't even afraid of him!
What can I do????? Anyone have any suggestions at all. I don't want to hurt them--just move them or make him stop putting food out.
I'm just fed up!
