My DD will be 5 later this month. She wants a disney princess/ hero party at Pizza Hut. My older daughter had a party at our local Pizza Hut a few years back, so now it's little ones turn. She wants it to be a costume party and we're inviting the whole pre school class and a few friends. It will be a large party probably more than 20 children. Any ideas what to do? I think we'll end up doing more princess activities, as there should be more girls. I'm really at a loss as to what to do for the boys. any ideas for princesses or heros would be appreaiated.
Thanks
Maureen

I would look up coloring pages online for the boys. There are many activities available online for boys and girls, most of them free. Sometimes at work I need to do activities for kids so I've looked a lot! Good luck and if I think of anything else, I'll post it! :)

Thanks for the idea. i'm including crayons in their treat bags, so maybe I'll just put them out with coloring pages at each place. I'm thinking of buying some crafts too. Any suggestions? Also, has anybody seen a game that would work for a bunch of 4/5 year olds, going along with this theme? It has to be something that everyone can win a prize at. I don't want any tears because they didn't win. What would you give as prizes?

Games I'm a bit puzzled about, however, for prizes I would look into mechandise from Oriental Trading Company. They have many small items that come in quantities that aren't too expensive. If not that, I would go to the Dollar Zone at Target or a local Dollar Store.

Good luck!

One game we did at my daughters princess party was "pin" the slipper on cinderella. Either print out a picture of cindy or buy a poster and then either find a clip art shoe or copy the one on the poster and then cut it out. Make multiple copies so everyone has their own shoe.

A craft idea is to decorate crowns. Either buy stickers or just color them. You can either find cardboard ones or make your own or buy foam ones. Boys and girls love this craft.

A favor to look for is in the wedding section of the dollar stores they usually have "glass slipper" favors. Put some small candies in the shoes and wrap with tulle. The girls loved these.

My daughters party was 3 years ago and I'm trying to remember what else we did.

Good Luck!

Was the picture of Cinderella larger than one printed from the computer? I like the glass slipper idea alot. I'll have to look for some of those favors. What can i make for the boys?

Maybe you could find a treasure chest for them and fill them with candy coins?

A treasure chest for each boy might work. I'll have to start looking. We're rather limited around here to stores. I do have WalMart and dollar stores and will probably go to Michaels before the party to buy crafts. Any other stores I have to drive for an hour to get to them. Any other ideas?
Thanks

We did a few games at "Princess Camp" this year and some of them were huge hits!!

One was "Kiss the Frog" basically pin the tail on the donkey, but I made a big frog prince and then made laminated "kisses" (red lips).. The kids loved it.

Also.. we did Princess and the Pea...

We threw several big pillows on the ground and then had a ping pong size ball or bouncy ball. Everyone turned around (to not see) then we hid the ball under a pillow. ** Now you can play it two ways.. One is .. everyone has a pillow and they sit on it to see if theirs is the one with the "pea" Whoever has the pea is out, but hides the pea under the cushions the next time.

Or.. you can just have one person at a time try out all the pillows to find the pea.. then they hide it for the next person.. then no one is ever "out".

Finally,

The biggest hit of all was the present swap .. I took my daughters "Cinderella" book and set all the kids in a circle (with 20 kids you may want a few circles... Hand each kid their present or goody bag etc. (Ours were all the same thing, so no one got upset, but they were different colors and were wrapped differently)

I read the story aloud and every time I said "Cinderella" they had to pass their present to the right. You wouldn't believe how many times the word Cinderella is in the book!!! The kids loved it when the Stepsisters yelled, "Cinderella!! Cinderella! Cinderella!!" They were practically throwing their presents!!
Whichever present they had at the end of the story was the one they opened!

Hope that helps! Have a great party!

I had scanned a picture into the computer and then printed it out poster size and taped the pieces onto poster board. Or if you bought a poster you could copy the shoe part on a regular copy machine and cut it out and then make more copies of just the shoe.

I love the reading of the story game idea. That game is always a hit.

Thanks for the ideas. The reading of the story game seems great. I wonder if I could just break the kids up into groups and do stations with the crafts and different games. I know that a lot of parents will stay to help.Keep the ideas comeing.

Go to birthdaypartyideas.com. They have ideas organized by party theme. Parents will summarize party with ideas for games, goody bags, decorations and many times will let you know if the idea worked or not.

I love the reading the story idea.
This is the link to a place on Long Island that I got little cardboard chest's I put together, that came out cute if you go with a pirate thing for boys. I put in gold coins (candy), deck of spongebob toys, pirate ball etc. The problem is, I don't see them on line. But they list their phone number under directions, I would call them and see if they would look and send them to you. Most things there are cheap and sold by the dozen or gross.
