Needing to cancel a linked Fastpass resrvation

We have 2 families traveling to Disney in the next couple of weeks. We have 2 separate package reservations that we linked together so that we could get our FP together. However one of the parties might need to cancel due to work, would the other reservation lose their FP selections if the other party needed to cancel?

No. Only the members of the Cancelled party lose their FPs.
