My family and I will be in WDW in December staying at OKW:D .
In planning our trip we are trying to weigh the benefits of the Very Merry Christmas Party. I have no experience with this event.

As best as I can tell it is a party with artificial snow, Christmas Parade, and extended park hours with what looks to be a smaller crowd. Basically we have seen all of these things at DL last Christmas. Is there anything different than that?

I have two little ones who probably turn into pumpkins by 10 anyways and I am trying to determine if it is worth it.
If any of you have experience with this event could you let me know whether I am on target or off base here? :scratchin

I've gone to MVMCP twice and it's been enjoyable.

Yes, the crowds are smaller since admission is limited. Many major attractions are open during the event so lines are usually quick.

Besides the "snow", extra hours and Christmas parade they serve endless cookies and hot cocoa plus each party has a free picture taken of them at the event. In addition, there are special shows that are staged around the MK. These are not seen during regular hours.

If you have little ones and decide to go I'd suggest you have them take a long nap before going. That way they will be ready to enjoy the party. It's really special.

You can be admitted as early as 4:00pm for the party and enjoy the rides before the regular hours are over at 6:00pm. At 6:00pm MVMCP ticketholders (you get a wristband) can go to Tomorrowland to ride there until the official 7:00pm start. The first parade is around 8:15, then the fireworks at 9:15. Then you could get your little ones home if they are tired. We really enjoy the parade & fireworks. They also have special shows. The kids would enjoy the one in Tomorrowland, Twas the Night Before Christmas and the show in front of the castle. There is also a Belle's Storytime in Fantasyland.

Thanks Margie and Debbie for the insight. I do have one more question though. Last time I was in WDW at Christmas (98 I Think) I remember it raining. Alot. Did any of you have those kind of troubles? The MVMCP average for us will be $40+ and if it rains out too bad. Your thoughts?
