I currently pts at SSR, and I am thinking to dump it and add on 100 points on AKV and do another 100 in a few years when Comtemporary or Hawaii DVC starts to sell.

Can I sell SSR first and add AKV right after ROFR is passed?

i think if you sell first then you will be subject to the min. purchase contract.... however if you buy AKV first, then you cann buy 100 and sell the original SSR points

make sure that the AKV is a seperate contract... i think that is automatic since it is a different resort, but worth confirming.

others i am sure will add greater clarity (i only have one contract, but many people here have been in your sitituation).... watch the postings.

Good luck

While AKV may be difficult to book for acouple of years, remember that with the addition of Kidani, it will be a fairly large resort. I would expect that once the "new" wears off, it will be relatively easy to book at the 7 month window. The exception may be the value class and concierge rooms, they may always be in demand.

Given the less expensive dues at SSR, I think I would hold onto SSR and try to book at 7 months at AKV and possibly CRV (Kingdom Tower).

Hawaii may be difficult to book, but unless I wantd to travel there on a regular basis, I probably wouldn't want to own there, as dues will likely be higher.

Either way, I would wait before selling SSR to see how things work out, there's no need to rush into selling. See how hard the other resorts are to book before making a decision that will wind up costing you money in commissions.

All add-ons, even with the same resort and use year, are legally a separate contracts and may be sold off separately.

As noted, you would have to be a member to do an "add on". You could time it and get a contract in hand, do an add on, and submit for ROFR. You could add on 25 pts now, sell then add on more later. You wouldn't miss out on anything other than you might miss the incentives for larger purchases though 100 pts wouldn't qualify you anyway. However, you should evaluate what you want and why. Is it worth it to essentially sell then buy back in. Given the price difference and sales costs, it cost you $28-30 a point to essentially convert SSR points to developer purchased points such as AKV. Not a reasonable choice, IMO.
