Need Your Help!! Suggestions :) (7 of us)

O.K. This is the situation. My family and I are planning a trip to Disney Nov.25-Dec.9 , two weeks. This isn't our first trip. We are planning on doing more than just Disney & Universal. This time besides DD who is 11, DH & me, we are taking my 2 DN who are 6 & 5 and my DB who is 24 and DS who is 23. So there is an odd number 4 adults and 3 children. We are planning on a rental van. Here is where I need help! WHERE DO WE STAY? We have never stayed on site and would love to but cost. We are planning on being on the go. I am not sure about a house rental. I don't care for the whole kitchen thing I don't plan to cook. Wouldn't mind a toaster and microwave, but diffently want a fridge. I like someone else making my bed I'm on vacation! So if we do the hotel thing we would need 2 rooms. Would like something comfortably roomy and nice but under $100.00 a night per room. Or a larger suit that could fit us all for under $200.00. So I am asking where can I get something nice and the cheapest? Oh ya, I want to be near Disney. Or do you have better suggestions? I am open for anything. Thanks

daily housekeeping - okay that means no timeshares or house rental....

how about LaQuinta Inn and Suites Maingate, or Homewood Suites, County Inn & Suities, AmeriSuites.

of course in my opinion, not having housekeeping is a blessing - I don't like people in my room when I am not there...that is why timeshare work so well for me.

2 suggestions for you, renting a house or a condo. I know you don't want to cook-but you don't have to-delivery and eating out our just as easy in a house as a hotel. As for housekeeping, well they may provide a clean between the 2 weeks or you could always set up housekeeping for an additional fee. Really, you could get a 5 or 6 bedroom house for less then 200 a night, possibly a fair amount less. You have a diverse group, with several adults. Extra room generally makes everything more peaceful. The houses come with your own pool, a great plus for the kids. I've done house rentals with extended family groups, they are ideal. The kitchen is great if only for snacks a quick meals and having a washer and dryer is wonderful.
The second suggestion would be a condo rental, not as much space, probably 3 or 4 bedrooms. Still would be better then hotels rooms, and probably cheaper. Most of them still don't include housekeeping though. We just didn't make the beds, we were on vacation after all. Just tossed sheets and towels in the washer when needed, but that's not every day. You can do hotels, but realize the trade, 2 or 3 rooms will run you what a condo or house will cost. Our 3 bedroom condo was ~1500 sq ft, hotel rooms will be 300-400 sq ft. Plus we had the kitchen, laundry, jacuzzi, big screen tv and in the house a game room. Think about it this way-you don't have to cook, but it's nice to have the kitchen failities there and takeout or sitdown from restaurant is easy enough. You don't have to do laundry, but it's nice to come home with clean clothes and be able to pack much more lightly. I'm sorry I don't have any hotel recommdations for you, but honestly my best recommdation for you is the condo or house. Just some ideas to think about from a veteran condo/house staying person.

Ahrizel, Thanks for the suggestion you made me reconsider renting a house. How indepth do you have to clean? Mop the floors, clean the toilets deep or just dishes , pick up bed making, light house cleaning. What about check inns , what do you do with luggage when you arrive early? How far away is the check inn places from where you rent and do you have any rentals that you have experienced first hand. Thanks again for all the information. You have been very helpful.

hey you are living there - if you want to clean if up do so - otherwise - I just make up the beds and take out the trash...wash dishes when necessary - nothing special.

when you leave the villa or house will get a through cleaning.

with a timeshare it is like a hotel - most will store your luggage until your villa is ready.

I agree, I love being able to leave my stuff out and not have to worry about it. All we do is make the beds, throw the dishwasher on once in awhile and take the garbage out...its not like you spend tons of time there so the place doesn't get that dirty.

There is no need to do anyhouse work in a rental home if you don't want to just the basic tidying up - no dusting - washing of floors you can change the beds if you want to and do some laundry but its not compulsory .If you rent direct from an owner the chances are the keys will be in a lock box at the house already so there is no need to go to an office .Most owners have a set check in time but unless there is a back to back booking an early entry can be organised with no problems as can a late check out -again if there is no back to back.

Ahrizel is right when they say a 5 bed home can cost under 200 per night how does under 145 sound ? it is possible to get them .Try a rental home I don't think you will be disappointed .
