We are going to have dinner at DHS and I don't know which restaurant to pick. We'll be on the DDP. NOT doing Fantasmic this evening.

We are a party of 7 (including the baby): 2 adults, 12 yr old, 9 yr old, 5 yr old, 4 yr old, and 7 1/2 months old.

We've gone to Mamma Melrose several times... so not interested in that one.

Never been to:

  • Sci-Fi (would love to... but will this setup work with a baby in a high-chair?)
  • Prime Time 50's
Not interested in the buffet this time.

Any other ideas? What would you do?

I would say 50's Prime Time...but I might be partial to this place. We love it. We have also been to SciFi before as well and really enjoyed our meal there. I think with the ages of the children in your group though, 50's would be fun! Good luck! :)

Ate at Sci-Fi on our past trip, they do have tables that can accomodate a larger party as well as a high chair.

I have not eaten at 50's Prime Time, but if you think your party (especially the kids) would enjoy the interaction with the CMs more then it may be a better choice.

I've been to all three. Mama Melrose would be my number one, but since it is out, 50's Primetime is number 2.

My whole family felt that Sci-Fi, while a really cool experience, the food was way too salty all around. We had 4 different entree's and this was a re-occuring theme.

Enjoy your dinner.

I like both but Sci Fi more for their burgers at lunch! I would pick 50's Prime Time for your group for dinner. Good Food, Good Fun

We love both. Have you checked the Brown Derby, too? It is one of the best restaurants in any park.

50s is my favorite but DD likes SciFi. 50s has the better food. We are eating at both next trip, and trying Mama Melroses for the 1st time too.

I think the 50's definitely has better food than the Sci-Fi. And the atmosphere is fun. The shakes are awesome.

Definately the 50's Prime Time Cafe due to the shakes and CM's interaction with their guests. I heard from a few friends that they did not enjoy the food at the Sci-Fi and it was just OK.

DD and I did both 50's and SciFi in Nov, and we'd pick 50's hands down over SciFi, especially with a larger group

my family LOVES 50's Primetime The atmospere is a hoot!! Last year DH and nephew had to dance to I'm a Little Teapot, mind you my nephew is 30. It was hilarious and our food was good

We've never been to any of these 3 places. I'm thinkig we will try 50's for our Nov. trip as my in-laws are coming along too so we will have 4 aduls and 3 kids.

We just got back yesterday and out of all the restaurants, even counter service, the Sci Fi was my least favorite. I couldn't see at all (I know it's supposed to be dark so you can see the movies but still...), the movies were a little too much for my 5 year old and the food was not good for me at all. The people who worked there were great, though. I'd go with the 50's PrimeTime.

May I suggest Hollywood & Vine:) We really enjoyed eating here in 2009. It was good.

I like PT 50's for dinner over Sci-Fi. I like the food better, and I like the theming better as well. I do agree with a couple of pp's about Brown Derby; the only thing though is it is a signature restaurant and there are much better places (value) to use 2ts than the Brown Derby.

If I requested to sit in one of the cars, can they still accomodate a high chair or will we have to sit in the tables?

We ate at Brown Derby on our last trip and really liked it! We were on the DDP though and it is a more expensive restaurant.
Between the two you mentioned, I would say 50s PTC.
