My Grand Aunts flew in this morning and they want to go to MK with us in the morning. They are 104 and 105 years old so this will be a slow morning. They both still walk at least a mile first thing in the morning everyday.
I ordered an ECV since they think shairing one is better than getting two.

If you have any ideas please tell me.

GO AUNTIES GO!!!!!!!

All I have to say when I read the post was WOW! I say do whatever they want to do and enjoy your time with them.

God Bless! Please don't worry about how much you get accomplished; enjoy your time with them. Take thousands of pictures everywhere and treasure your grand aunts. This was an inspiration to me.

I would go to guest relations and see if they can do anything special for them. If it's there first time there they will give them each a button at least.

I had my mom there for the first time when she was 87. I had her wheelchair decorated with her age and it stated it was her first time there. I didn't expect anything and then to our suprise, a CM member noticed her sign at the Buzz Lightyear ride and she asked us to wait a few minutes. Well, she returned with a special, handwritten yellow slip that gave us fastpasses to three other attractions. We each got a free ice cream, too. She got a button for her first time there. We were allowed to ride Buzz three times in a row, as well. My mom felt very special in that moment and I won't forget it. It was special to all of us!

Hope you get some pixie dust, too; although, you already have some with them being there.

On a more serious note: If you find they both need ECVs by all means get another. If they have difficulty with the ECVs then go to a wheelchair for them for the day. Many use the wheelchair as a walker if they want to walk some through the day. Maybe, one whheelchair and one ECV would do the trick. Take some rests like enjoying a meal, show, etc. Make sure you give them ample opportunities for restroom breaks. If you do any rides the ride queues can be very difficult for ECVs; there are hard turns involved. There are some rides where you can transfer to a wheelchair provided by Disney at the ride. Some rides allow the wheelchair right on the ride like It's A Small Small World; so, they will not have to climb in and out.

I hope the aunts help with your entourage. How many people on wheels do you have now? I can't help thinking both aunts will end up with an ECV because the one left walking wouldn't be able to keep up.

No ideas but you are blessed. I would contact Guest Relations to tell them what you are doing. You might be surprised. What a great family time for you.

We had a great time! We made up pins before going with their ages on them and their pictures from their trip in 1971.CMs noticed and were very welcomeing. They wore their pedomitors to see just how much walking they did. They both did almost 5 miles with tradeing off walking and rideing the ECV.

So our group was 4 ECVs, 9 powerchairs, and 5 walking.

We checked out of AK and we are at the rental house. We have the Grand Aunts staying with us which we are enjoying.

I had all the kids go turtle mode and told them to set their pace to the Grand Aunt walking. My Brother was the one we had to remind to slow down.

WOW, I think it's great, I have to add God Bless them! I am not sure the ECV will alow two people sit on one but I'm not sure. You have been given excellent advice.

ECV was a single seater, doubles or two seaters are too big for the parks, they just took turns rideing vs walking. They did not want 2 ECVs because they wanted to each walk some and ride a bit.

They both worked into their 90s saying they were not ready to retire. Both were teachers.Younger one taught H.S. math and older one taught College history.

I would suggest contacting Disney publick relations and perhaps they might let the sit on a float in the Afternoon parade. I know of a loyal Disney fan called and requested to be in the parade and they made him Grand Marshall for the day along with his family. Give it a try, I sure your aunts would really enjoy the surprise.

And to have done all that, got back to AK, checked out and posted about it by a little after noon on the MK day is really amazing!

I only have one DD in a wheelchair and my mother and mother in law in their 80s were both with us on our recent trip. They were good walkers, but my party could not cover 10 miles in a morning at MK, even if we got there by rope drop and were at MK until noon ( if each aunt walked 5 miles and rode half the time, that's 10 miles. In less than 4 hours in the park, that’s averaging more than 2.5 miles each hour!).
To have gotten to park by 11am was a stretch for us ( the grandmas were up, but getting DD ready is very time consuming. She is not a morning person).

I hope you took lots of pictures of them there.. and hope they had lots of fun.. please post the pictures to show us... :thumbsup2 That is a lot of walking for 2 their age.. Hope I can do that, heck, I hope I live that long.... ... guess they are in great shape.

What a blessing them to you and I'm sure you to them.

On a side note... I want to be the great Aunt taken to MK when I'm 100+. I can't even talk my nephews to bring my grand nephews & grand nieces to MK without me! But, I will continue to try. hehehehe
