Flying in the day before our cruise but arriving at 1am! I need transportation from MCO to our hotel in cape canaveral-and back from cruise to MCO. What do you recommend? I have used a private car service in the past but the company I used years ago has alot of bad reviews lately. Do shuttles run that late? Anyone do UBER- is that even possible? Would be willing to do Uber only on way back is that is an option. I have a 12:05 pm flight on the day we leave so we will do self walk off and I dont want to wait for a shuttle to fill before it leaves. Thanks!

The buses from Port Canaveral to MCO start leaving by 8:00 (maybe a bit earlier), depending on how quickly they fill.

With a 12:05 flight, you have plenty of time to take DCL transfers. It's my understanding things like uber or taxis cost around $100 from MCO to port (or vice versa).

Whether your hotel in Cape Canaveral even has a shuttle from MCO or not, you'd have to ask them, and how late it runs.

Have you considered staying at the Hyatt at MCO? It's a bit pricey, but you can then take the DCL shuttle the next day. Most important, though, is a 1:30am (by the time you get off the plane), you don't still have another hour of travel time to your hotel. You walk down the hall and check in.

Uber will run you around $100+ for the trip. There are other recommended car hire services as well. Your other option is to find a hotel for the night and transport yourself the next morning.

Pre-cruise I would opt for a hotel room near the airport, be that the MCO Hyatt or another airport-area hotel (we like Hampton Inn). With a 1am flight arrival, it would be at least 2:30am before you are settled into a hotel room near the port, and probably even later since you'll have to collect your bags and then about an hour drive to the port. Most (if not all) airport-area hotels will have a 24-hr shuttle, you'll be in your bed before 1:30pm, some include breakfast, then shuttle back to MCO in the morning for DCL transfers. If you stay at the MCO Hyatt, no shuttles necessary. Use a private car service from the hotel to port in the morning if you prefer.

I believe only Uber-Black can pick-up at the airport.

Post-cruise, you can use either DCL transfers or a private car service. I wouldn't do Uber, but I guess you could. Barring unusual circumstances, you shouldn't have any trouble getting to MCO for a 12:05 flight; and if there are unusual circumstances (delayed return to port, accident on the highway, etc.) it will impact any mode of transportation.

Enjoy your cruise!

We planned to stay near the port, but changed to a hotel near the airport (Staybridge Suites Orlando) when we realized our flight wouldn't land until 7PM. Even then, driving to the Port would have been unpleasant. As it was, by the time we got our luggage, got to our hotel and ate dinner, it was like 11PM and we went straight to bed. We had plenty of time the next morning for breakfast at the hotel, check out and got to the port at about 11AM. We could have made it earlier if we wanted to. I can't imagine driving the extra hour to a hotel by the port at like 2AM. Just my perspective. Have a great trip!

Another vote for staying at the MCO Hyatt. We like their breakfast dishes in the restaurant, and they pick up your suitcases from your hotel room in the morning and deliver them to DCL for you, as long as you let them know when you check in that you are taking the Disney transfer bus to the port
