We will be arriving at the LA port on Sunday, May 25th at the end of our Disney Panama Canal Cruise and plan to spend (1) night in the area before flying home on Memorial Day. Is there an area that we can stay in that will allow us to see a few touristy sights on foot or by use of public transportation? We have 3 adults and 5 children in our party and I really don't want the hassle of renting two cars for such a short period of time.
I figured we could get a shuttle from the port to our hotel and a shuttle from the hotel to LAX.
A few or the things we thought we might like to see are:
rodeo drive
sunset blvd
hollywood blvd
hollywood sign
venice beach
santa monica
Are any of these possible on foot or by public transportation? A hired tour is not an option because of the expense for such a large group.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I posted on the boards at cruisecritic.com but was also hoping for help from this board too.
