ARGHHH...At one level I know these things happen and can't be helped, but I am so frustrated.
DD, a freshman in college, had knee surgery 4 years ago. In the last couple of months, her knee pain has become worse than ever. When she walks down stairs you can hear the bones scraping together. Her knee has given out all together and she fell down the stairs. She's been seeing the doctor at the student health center, but I made an appointment for her to see her own orthopedic surgeon while she was home for spring break. If she needs surgery again, I want to have it done here at the beginning of her summer vacation. The physical therapist at school has told her she's close to not being able to walk at all.
Her appointment was to be in 1 1/2 hours. Apparently the doctor has become ill and is going home. DD goes back to school Sunday afternoon. We're going to see his physician's assistant, but is that all that different from seeing the student health center doctor? Although the group our doctor belongs to is huge, they can't seem to arrange for her to see another orthopod. I want to scream...it's so hard to have her be far away and be going through these troubles and to not be able to have her seen by a doctor I trust is making it worse!
