need to vent about incentive points

Why on earth would DVC make incentive points something to be done by hand????? I cancelled a reservation on Monday for a trip the end of Feb - almost 400 incentive points. Today i called to make a new reservation and my incentive points are not back in the system yet. My reservation is gone, but the points aren't there.....I was told that they will be back in my account in a few days....a few days??? These are my points and I want to use them now.
 
I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL!! THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO ME AND I AM AFRAID THE RESORT WILL BE SOLD OUT FOR THE TIME I NEED TO GO AND I ALREADY HAVE PLANE TICKETS!!!:mad:
 
YEA, don't you just love it. And the points expire!

In fact, I was told today I had no points. Well, what happened to my 400+ points I had on Monday? Had to research and sure enough...on someone's desk.

I had big issues as well, needed 6 calls to get the confirmations right.

I guess I just got lucky....we made some changes, MS was great, and we are using ours for a cruise in a few weeks!

It is tough for them cause it is totally separate, and its all paperwork, etc...

I didn't have any problems with the exception of waiting forever to get my confirmations and never did get them all. When I made my changes they held the reservation for me.
 
Yes, they are a PITA. The best thing you can do is take the money instead of the points if that is an option. If not, I would try to use them up on something big that I will most likely not change.

I used mine for our Family Reunion, and it was H-E-Double Hockey Sticks! I had so many changes and each time a manual transaction had to done. Each time Im worried that I had all these people coming and no place to stay because rooms were pretty much sold out.

Definitely learned my lesson and the incentive points are not much of an incentive to add on for me anymore.

We had the same problem. We did a modification on a reservation using developer points on Dec. 13th and did not receive an e-mail confirmation until today (30 days later). That was after a few phone calls to MS and having them search for the ressie. We have now used up our developer points and quite honestly, even though I am very grateful for them, I am kind of glad to be back to using the "regular points" - a lot less of a hassle! :)
