Need to change R/T to one way

i booked a round trip fare to Orlando, due to circumstances I now need to fly from ALB to MCO going down & then MCO to BWI coming back. Do I have to cancel both legs of my round trip & start over & rebook the one way or can I just cancel the flight home to ALB & book to BWI?

What airline did you book with? If it's not Southwest, or if you don't have decent status with the non-SW airline you booked with, you're in for some rebooking fees. (unless you booked inside of 24 hours ago)

SW and I used pts so it should be an easy fix just don't know if I have to cancel whole round trip & start over or can I just cancel the return portion

I believe you will have to cancel the whole thing as it is one reservation number. If prices have gone up or you paid for EBCI, you could always call in and ask. It never hurts to ask first.

You will have to cancel the original ticket and rebook.

You can call and cancel one leg of the trip. Cancelling the whole thing means you have to rebook at today's prices. If you call, they can cancel just the one leg and keep the other leg at the price you already paid.

I had to do the same thing in November.

I think that if you select modify flight instead of cancel, you can then choose which of the two flights you want to modify. Just pick the return flight, and change it to the flight you want.

I have had r/t tickets and was able to modify one leg of the trip myself. When you put in the confirmation number and click change ticket, both legs will appear. Just click the box, (box will be on the left hand side) next to the leg you want to modify and you will be able to rebook just that leg of the trip.
