Need to cancel some ADRs. Which would you choose?!?

I would NOT cancel the dinner at BOG. It is more "magical" IMO and the prices aren't too much more. I think the lunch prices are crazy if you are paying out of pocket IMO.

We also enjoyed Coral Reef. I would ask to wait a little if you can get a table by the tank (for the kids). I also agree with the Earl of Sandwich being a better, cheaper option. It was very good.

Never done any at AK except Rainforrest. Not a fan of Mama Melrose, been once.. We never do Italian at Disney, too many here at home.

Did GG last visit, probably want return. We did breakfast there and all of us agreed we have had better experiences.

Even though it gets mixed reviews just want to say that we love Coral Reef. Also I would keep BOG dinner getting rid of the lunch on Thursday and would suggest LTT instead or CS. I haven’t been to Homecomin’ or Trattoria so can’t comment and have only done breakfast at TH. I think your plans are fine and always say go with what works best for you. I have a few family members with food allergies so we have to do all 3 meals TS because we have not had the best experiences at the CS we have tried and we space things out and usually have a lighter lunch so for us it is not too much food but to others it would be. Good luck!

I am not going to be helpful at all but Trattoria Al Forno was our favorite character meal that we have ever done. We all thought the food was great and the character interaction was fantastic. I guess it all depends on what you like. Rapunzel and Ariel are my two daughters favorites so we are probably biased. We also really liked Be Our Guest dinner but I think that was in part because we appreciated being able to have a few drinks after a long day in MK and I had worked so hard to get the darn reservation. Plus it’s cool to meet The Beast. The only one on your list that I have been to and am not crazy about is Mama Melrose. I don’t really love any of the HS choices though. Never tried Homecomin

I would say I agree with two of the previous posters that it’s probably best to try and stick with one table service a day and you may want to consider dropping some of the buffets because that is where you get the least value since you have to pay the adult prices for some of your kiddos. Good luck! I always struggle with this too.

Of those choices, I'd cancel everything but Via Napoli, Ohana and I'd move my Tusker House lunch to a breakfast. Everything else is expendable.

I want to add to that while I find breakfast and lunch at BoG enjoyable, it was hands down the 2nd most disappointingly bad dinner experiences we've ever had at WDW, behind Chef Mickey's.

After calculating an estimated cost for the dining on our next trip, we decided that we need to cut down on some TS reservations. Our kids will be 12, 10, and 7 on the next trip so 2 of them will be charged as adults for buffets/character meals. If we do sit down places, they will likely order off the kids' menu. Therefore, we decided that we want to replace some of our TS meals with QS meals to cut down on cost.

Here's what we have reserved. I have bolded the ones that we are considering cancelling. Thoughts?

We will be staying at Yacht Club if that matters.

Fri D: Coral Reef (never eaten here and wanted to try it)

Sat B: Garden Grill (gets us into Epcot early so we can get on Soarin early)
Sat L: Via Napoli (late lunch)
Sat D: QS

Sun B: 1900 Park Fare (Easter brunch...I wanted a nice brunch for Easter)
Sun L: just snack
Sun D: Be Our Guest (we've never done dinner here and have heard mixed things. We really like it for lunch and have an ADR for lunch later in week)

Mon B: in room
Mon L: Mama Melrose (never done this one...wanted something new at HS)
Mon D: QS

Tue B: in room
Tue L: QS
Tue D: O'Hana

Wed B: in room
Wed L: Teppan Edo (one of our faves!)
Wed D: QS

Thur B: in room
Thur L: Be Our Guest
Thur D: Homecomin'

Fri B: in room
Fri L: Tusker House (thinking of trying Satuli Canteen instead)
Fri D: QS

Sat B: Trattoria Al Forno

I would cancel:

- Coral Reef. I know you said they may think cool but honestly unless you get the lower level the view is not great. Food has really gone downhill and the wait just to get in .... your time and money would be better spent in the World Showcase.
- Be Our Guest. Dinner was a dud for us; menu, price and it feels just like it does during the quick service meals. Keep your lunch.
- Tusker House. Def try Satuli Canteen instead. It is served in real bowls etc so feels a step up from quick serve.
- Homecomin'. Have not tried it.
- Trattoria. I keep looking then I end up changing my mind, I just don't see how I'll get value from it. But we used to do the character breakfasts on our last day. Don't do that anymore. Tough one.

Coral Reef has consistently disappointed us the last few times we went. Years ago it was good. It's now off our list. Go in there and use their washroom, that'll give you the best part of the whole experience of being there. The foyer is pretty cool. Food is not.

I'd cancel O'hana and the Coral Reef. The Coral Reef is ok, but not great. I'd also cancel Tusker House and Teppan Edo.

I'd cancel Coral Reef, Homecomin' and Tusker House.

I know you say you want to try Coral Reef - but why? How's it fit into your plans? It looks like its your first day at Disney - so I'm not sure why you want/need TS in a park that day.

I'd keep the GG breakfast as it goes with your Soarin' plans - plus I think that's a nice, calm character meal. But I would not keep the lunch reservation that same day - I'd cancel that. Character breakfasts are too much food to follow with a TS lunch. Epcot has lots of great QS options.

I love Tusker House - but it is pricey and if you haven't tried Satuli Canteen yet - its worth trying!

I personally think O'Hana is over-priced and not worth it - BUT - I think it fits nicely into your plans. But if you are trying to cut some costs - this is an expensive one.

Homecomin' - just not worth it. I think its great for 20 somethings who want to sit around and drink a lot of alcohol - but otherwise - not worth it. Lots of places to eat at Disney Springs - just pick based on your families interest at the time.

I'd keep the BoG dinner - I think everyone needs to try it.

I'd keep the Trattoria - that's a meal I want to try!!!

Not the ones you bolded but:
I see another poster suggested cancelling Coral Reef. I've never been there, but I've heard so many terrible things about it I'd never want to try, even though the idea of being right there with the aquarium is intriguing!

And Mama Melrose. I've ate their twice, but for specific reasons: 1) we were running one of the Disney half marathons the following day and wanted Italian to "carb load" and 2) We did the Fantasmic! package.
If not for those two things, there would be nothing particularly attractive about the restaurant, that you couldn't get at any standard Italian restaurant.

Of the ones you DO have bolded: I've been to Homecomin' and it was good--but I don't think I'd go out of my way to Disney Springs to go there.

If I have to follow the rules, I would cancel TH and Homecomin. I like both but if you have to cut back thiose are the two I would cancel.

Personally, I would cancel:

CR- it s okay, but the food and service are Not consistant.
'Ohana- We used to go, but last time was the worst meal ever. It is also one that in not consistant and it is an expensive fixed cost.
Al Forno- We love this one for dinner

Would cancel BOG dinner (we love lunch)
Via Napoli and Coral Reef are also on our list of places not to eat.

I would cancel coral reef, garden grill and the ones you have bolded. I would possibly change Tusker house to breakfast. It was the best buffet we’ve ever been to at WDW.

I’m doing 9 nights with DD12. We aren’t doing any character buffets. Just way too expensive for what you get. We’re also only doing 4 meal ADRs (BOG lunch, HDDR, GF tea and Cali grill plus a dessert party) We don’t want to be tied down. We will open the app if we don’t want QS and go with the flow. If once we are there and we want a character meal we will see what’s available.

We enjoyed all of your bolder options, Coral Reef was TERRIBLE though. I would cut it.
