I'm throwing DD's 8th birthday party at home in a few weeks and was trying to think of some fun games to play. It will be all girls and I remembered that when I was little, I loved playing the telephone game. Problem is, I can't think of any good sentences or phrases. Please help!!! TIA!

I would take "chinese whispers" out of your title lest you get a DIS smackdown.

For my DD's last (9th) birthday party, I let the girls make up their own phrases. I did have a minimum number of words for them though. If I were going to have a list of phrases for them to use, I would make them up about DD (or her friends) - funny facts (or facts/fiction made funny). Like "Susie skips to school except on Saturdays" or "Tina tumbles to the gym on Tuesdays to take tae kwan do" (sp??)

If you are looking for other fun but basic ideas, the girls loved the limbo! Freeze dance and our version of musical chairs (chairless - we used pillows since it was a sleepover) were hits too. Plus versions of different guessing games

Have fun!

Thanks, what a great idea to personalize with the kids' names! I'll have to start working on that.

I've actually been creating a list of games to play and limbo is one of them. We're having a dog/puppy themed party so a lot of games I've found have to do with that. Thanks for the ideas!

I never heard it referred to as this. :confused3
But I second the PP who used phrases that start with the same letter. It makes it easier to mess up.

I hadn't either. But I googled the telephone game and actually Chinese Whispers came up. Apparently it started as a British game...?? I figured if I put both titles I would cover all bases.
