Need sweet 16 gift ideas for girls

My best friends daughter is turning 16 soon and I want to get her a specialy gift. Does anyone have any good gift suggestions? My DDs are no where near this age, so I'm at a loss on what she would even want. Thanks!

No help here but I want in one this thread as my son is getting invited to these parties now and I have no idea. They are not the over the top wedding type- more like Mom taking 4 kids into the city- *yes this is a girl and she is taking 3 boys-my kind of girl!

I would say jewelry but I'm not sure??

I suggest a nice piece of jewelry to represent a more grown up appearance, whether it is earrings, or a nice necklace doesn't matter. You could think about engraving something on the back of a charm or inside a bracelet.

I just bought a Elsa Peratti (from Tiffany) initial necklace for a good friend's daughter. Both parents are unemployed so no big party. I think every girl should have atleast one piece of TIffany

I also was going to suggest a piece of Tiffany. A lot of girls are wearing the Pandoras - you can get the bracelet and a charm for under $100.

Either one of those is a safe bet. My 10 year old got her first Pandora before she left for camp this summer (for her 5th grade graduation) and she loves it. It's so easy to buy charms to add to it. Her godmother bought her one, my mother, etc.

My son is in HS and all the girls are going crazy over the Pandoras.

Most girls will love the jewelry like others have suggested, and other gifts I know friends have given are things like purses, perfume, etc. It depends on what the girls are into. Around here it is Vera Bradley everything and anything, but might not be the trend somewhere else.
I do know some that give money or gift cards, but I think a personal gift is nice for Sweet 16...
