sorry sweetie I feel your pain my DBF is thinking about signing up with the national guard as well only with him he scored high enough he can pick whatever job he wants and of course he wants to be an MP( military police).

that means if he goes over he will basically be protecting the base and units as they travel. so that scares the pee outta me!!! he wants to basically be a bullet sponge!!!

So sorry Shannon will be leaving again soon. My DH is retired AF -- he was gone a lot during his military career. But for us, the sacrifices were worth it (but I am glad those days are behind us now!).

My husband just left for his six month training as a Lieutenant in the National Guard. I'm left with my dachshund Freddie and my kitty Daphne (however, she goes by "Meow Meow") So sad!

My stepson (17) left two weeks ago for the Marines. He actually graduated early from high school so he could go. As scared as his father and I are, we a just completely in awe of him and couldn't be more proud. I will keep your husband in my prayers as I do my stepson and all the other brave men and woman who give of themselves for our freedom.

DH is a former Marine and I know what you are both going through. It's tough. But those left behind are heroes too. It takes alot of love and sacrifice - I appreciate it. I would like to thank both, spouses and parents for all they do. It's a tough job!!
