Need suggestions for off-site restaurant for celebration

My family of 11 will be traveling from different parts of the country to WDW in December. We are celebrating a few different things while we are there this trip.

Here is where I need some help. We just found out that a member of the party will be getting married prior to trip. I would like to have a celebration dinner for them while we are there. I want to do it off-site for a couple of reasons:

1.) Price - I will be paying for this and do not want to go over $30 per person with drinks (none alcoholic) and gratuities.

2.) I want to have a cake for them. I want her to be able to have a "wedding" cake from local bakery and have it delivered to the restaurant.

3.) We are going to be tight on our schedule so Sunday night of the trip is only time available.

I know that there are great places to eat on site. We will be on site for Germany on day (with Candlelight Processional), One evening at Ohana's for a graduation celebration. I did not want to tie in their celebration with the other two events, I wanted it to be just their time.

No truly picky eaters, ages range from 70 - 3!

Anyone who can recommend a great bakery there (off-site) and florist too would be great!

How about Macaroni Grill or Bahama Breeze.

As far as a cake you will have to get that cleared with the restaurant. They may not like having a wedding cake delivered and then expecting them to keep it safe and cold for your arrival. You will be taking away from the profit they would make off of you buying their desserts

Good call on the restaurant not wanting to take responsibility. I will def call ahead and let them know and ask permission.

well Publix or Target can do both and be cheaper than a bakery.

for restuarants - say where you are staying.

since you want offsite - guess that eliminates Downtown Disney too.

well don't know if you would think of it as a great place - but it is good
Golden Coral - buffet type - so great for groups

Perkins - a good family type restaurants.

near Target and Publix US192 is a couple of restuarants - that I can't remember their names

As another poster has said, Target. I love, love, love the flavor of their cakes and have done side by side comparisons with other bakeries to confirm. If you don't believe me, buy a small one near where you live and give them a try. Assuming they would be the same nationwide??

If you have no luck with taking a cake to a restaurant (which I doubt you will find one that will allow it except maybe a small, local mom-n-pop type place), I would try to work something out with your hotel (though you didn't mention where you are staying), maybe a small conference room or the breakfast room in evening would be available to you if you were renting many rooms. Again they likely will not at all be involved in storage but may allow you to carry in something if you take care to transport it yourself. I would probably prefer this type of venue anyway, that would allow your group to mingle and enjoy rather than try to do in midst of a public restaurant.

Our favorite off-site restaurant is Giordono's. Their stuffed pizza is to die for. It's at 7866 W Irlo Bronson Mem Hwy in Kissimmee. Yum. Yum

You may want to try restaurant.com and put the Lake Buena Vista zip code in and see what is offered. If you use a code you can even get a better deal for a restaurant certificate. There are $100 certificates available for like $40 without a discount. This means you get $100 credit towards the bill. They will probably include a 20 % gratuity automatically.

I like these coupons and they do work.
