I need suggestions for dining for my first trip
to the World with my fiance. I have been since
being an adult, but he hasn't been since childhood.
It will just be the two of us. Budget is of course
always on my mind, but I wouldn't mind splurging
for one or two big meals. We will be there seven
nights.

Also, what about an adult friendly character meal?
I would love to do Cindy's, just because I want to,
but am open to suggestions that maybe are more
grown up.

I would defintely try one of the Epcot restraunts. San Angel Inn is delicious and they have great Margaritas. Also Calafornia Grill at the Contemporary would be great. Wonderful view of MK and if you time it right the fireworks.

I would defintely try and do Pleasure Island too.

Definetly do a character meal! They are lots of fun even for two adults. DH and I did one while on our honeymoon and both of us had a great time and that was DH's first trip ever to the World!

As for picking a character meal, ask your finace who some of his favorite characters are and then maybe you can decide together who to "meet." Again as the above poster stated Deb Wills site has menus and also who appears at the character meals.

Have fun!

I hope you have a fantastic trip!

My favorite character meal is at the Garden Grill at The Land in Epcot. It is served family style, and the characters are Farmer Mickey, Chip 'n Dale. The setup for the booths is very private, and I found that we had a lot of private time with the characters. DH and I celebrated our anniversary there, and were rehitched by our waiter.

For a nicer dinner, I have several favorites. Some of them are Artist Point, Spoodles, California Grill, Jiko, and my all time favorite - Flying Fish.

I usually don't care much for buffets, but the buffet dinner at Boma is incredible, and may be more in keeping with a budget than the restaurants noted above.

I would also have to suggest Hoop Dee Doo Review, even though it is a bit pricier. Homestyle food and a slapstick, country-style comedy show! I loved it as an adult, because I have distant memories of this show from my childhood. I remember being there with my family, in what I guess was probably the early 80's, and it brought back so much! It was great to re-live the experience as an adult! And to share it with DH!

California Grill is a great one, but we NEVER miss a dinner at O'Hana on our trips. The food is SO wonderful, and if you time your reservation right you can watch the fireworks as you eat. They dim the lights and it is very special. Then you can walk out to the beach and see the electric water pagent too. (9:oopm every night) At the California Grill we have always had to go outside on the patio to see them, leaving our meal to get cold. The food at both restaurants is outstanding, and they are both great, but O'Hana is our favorite. Someone else posted the idea of eating at Epcot- that always makes our day at Epcot more special. It's hard to go wrong at any of the nice restaurants in the countries. The San Angel Inn is very romantic, but the food isn't worth writing home about. We still do it occasionally for the atmosphere. Eating at the Living Seas is a really neat experience- you sit along the aquarium, and fish and sharks swim by the table. It is overpriced, and our meals have never been really excellent, but is is very unique and very special. We love to show pictures to people of the shark by the table as we ate! Have fun!

Since V&A would probably qualify as a "super splurge", I'll rule that out.
California Grill would be one choice--great food, wonderful views--will get you in a Disney mood very fast!! My other spot would be the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. That's a nice area too and the restaurant is very good.
