Need song suggestions

As a Christmas gift, I am scanning in my parent's old slide photos and creating a DVD. I would love to hear suggestions for songs that I can use as background music as the slides are showing and changing.

Any help would be appreciated!

They are in their late 60's and early 70's.

The only song I can think of right now is Barbra Streisand's "Memories".

We just went through the slides and there are a LOT of them. I'm going to need 6 or 7 different songs, I think.

I'd go with some instrumentals from the 40's then -- some of that big band / swing music. Maybe "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller. Google that and you can listen to part of the song. It's very upbeat. If this is a slide show and you want them to concentrate more on the slides than the song lyrics, I'd go with more instrumental stuff, and there's no shortage of stuff that was popular in your parents' youth.
