need some recommendations

when we go in august, we have a few things going on:

**my brother in law will be coming for a visit from being overseas in the army;
(who will also be proposing to his girlfriend in disney)

**it will be my in-laws (dh's parents) 30th wedding anniversary;

**my other brother in law will also be in town, so it will also be like a family reunion (who knows when the next time will be when everyone will be together like this)

so as not to take away from my brother in law's proposal (he's not sure which day or where he wants to do it), we still want to do a nice celebration dinner for their parents, romantic but in a nice family atmosphere for everyone.

we were thinking of the castle for dinner for their anniversary, but then bil is thinking about doing something there with is girlfriend on another day and doesn't want to eat there twice in the same trip.

any ideas???

What about Chef de France? Or some place like that in Epcot, maybe Le Cellier or L'Originale Alfredo di Roma?

I have not done it myself buy it seems from info on the boards you might want to look into one of the wishes cruises or anyof the magical gatherings - available for larger parties like yours. Some great unique ideas that are romantic but not restaurant related and will be memorable.

Of the places we've eaten so far, Artist Point is VERY nice. And I would think it would accomodate a large group really nicely without being crowded. They are VERY nice there also and the food is excellent.

Also, Grand Floridian Cafe is lovely and has delicious food also. They have a room kind of in the back and I wonder if you tell them in advance, they will put the group back there. This restaurant would truly have that "wedding" look the way it is decorated. That would really be my choice. It is also where they have the Grand Floridian Bakery and I would think you could order Cinderella's Slippers or the little personal wedding cakes for dessert for something special. Or I'm sure a special cake if you wanted. Perfect for both the anniversary and engagement. Very elegant and not outrageously priced. We've eaten there twice now, once with 6 people and once with two of us and ALL the food was delicious. Just thinking about the Chocolate Gnache Fondue for dessert is making me SO hungry!!!

a wishes cruise would be great!! I was thinking the castle as well....hmmm....how about California Grill for their anniversary? Great food, great view....

If you want to eat at Cinderellas you usually need reservations at least 90 days in adavance as it is extrememly hard to get into. The San Angel Inn in Mexico at EPCOT has a wonderful romantic atmosphere and the food is scrumptious. If you're looking for a fun dining experience try the 50's Prime Time Dinner at MGM.

I would recommend Artist Point. It is romantic but would also accomodate a large group, including children if children are attending. It's a great atmosphere...subdued, nice theming. Great chance to check out the Wilderness Lodge. Fabulous food. We've never had a bad meal there. We love it.


Some others we've tried that you might consider:
California Grill is more lively. Also great food, but I think a little bit more expensive. More trendy, less intimate in my opinion, but still an excellent choice.

Narcosee's- we went a few years ago. The food was delicious. Atmosphere was ok. Not too busy or crowded.

Chefs de France was good, but it was very lively and tables close together...I don't know if I'd recommend it for an anniversary dinner for that reason.

Yachtsman Steakhouse as ok when we went in May, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it.
