need some pricing suggestions for American Girl Doll Stuff // Page 2 - more Pics

all she has to do is delete the photos off photobucket. no point of quoting for that reason.

Oh, Dis friends, this thread is making me LOL.....,:)

Chuckys Death Doll Army?!?!?! Hilarious!!!

Oh, the CB just gets better and better........

So what were the chairs? Kirsten's? If not, maybe Molly's original wood table? Those look like they hold more resale potential to me than the dolls - though, of course, I thought the dolls looked good until I saw them out of the bag...:sad2:

I didn't see a table, only chairs.
There is not enough showing to tell if they are original or not, but the color is too light to be Molly's wood chairs. Her wood table and chairs were a very dark brown. The color shown in the photos is much lighter and would be a better match for Kirsten's chair color.

I am totally with you. Those dolls ARE salvageable...lots of elbow-grease, bleach water & time, but they are...even if it's just for parts for someone who does doll repair/customs.

Too many people today are germaphobes...we didn't get where we are today without germs and viruses etc...they've always been here.:confused3 Apparently no one on this thread cloth diapers, or has been to a third world country before either.

I'd be interested in the clothing when you are ready to sell. Bleach & sunshine kills practically everything.

The dolls need new torsos, period. I wouldn't bother to send them to AG for repairs unless the vinal parts can be cleaned up. I have purchased very similar doll bodies from craft stores, so that may be an option.

Try some barkeeper's friend (it's a powdered cleaner similar to comet) on the dark stains on the arms and legs. I have used it to remove rust and battery acid stains from some of my childhood plastic toys and dolls with great results. It removes rust and cleans superficial stains and marks without damaging most harder surfaces.

This thread just makes me want to hurl. Yuck. I would never want my girls playing with one of those, new bodies or not. I wouldn't even want one in my house.

wow, those poor dolls had a really rough life. i can't imagine my daughter treating her AG dolls that way. i hope you were able to salvage them somehow, OP.

To me the chair looks like a wicker rocker. Something AG never made.

The first picture in post 1 shows a chair the you can see the legs of:

It looks similar to Kirsten's chair to me, although you can't tell, seeing just the legs. It's hard to tell if some of the things are cross pieces which Kirsten's chairs don't have or if they are legs of other chairs kind of tangled up. (A later version had a similar shape, but had painted designs on the chairs).

The second picture shows a bit more of the bag, and you see a wicker chair, over the top of the wood chair.

The bottom of the chair looks similar to Samantha's chair, but it doesn't have arms. I think all the versions of Samatha's chairs had arms like this picture shows:

I couldn't find a picture online of Molly's original wood table and chairs, but they were pretty simple dark wood. They are sitting in my dining room, but I am too busy to go take a picture to download.

I think I'm with sailorstitch on this one...I think it's a non-AG wicker rocking chair...

I've never seen a rocking chair with a routed bottom rung. How would it rock? I still think that bottom rung sure does look like the in&out router design of Kirsten's chair legs - though I do think it's likely broken, with a wicker chair on top. In fact, if I let my imagination & inner-optimist rule... the bottom of the wicker chair has a small dot which could be the little gold AG sticker but the arms would have to be broken off then too for it to be samantha's...

How about it OP, wanna come back and solve the mystery ?:goodvibes

That's what I'm seeing!

I have Molly's wooden table & chairs.

I've been collecting AG since 1993! Even in the the trash bag I can tell that the chair is NOT AG.

It wouldn't rock very smoothly, but if it was a cheapy from Hobby Lobby or Michael's meant for displaying bears or dolls, then display aesthetics would probably trump functionality, KWIM?

I'm not a germaphobe, but those dolls are disgusting, and it's wrong to tidy them up and sell them to someone for thier child to play with, unless that person is told up front the condition they were in originally. Then THEY can make the choice to pass or not pass because of the filth.

If the dolls are sold they will most likely go to an ADULT collector to be used as parts or made into custom dolls.

Thank you, I'll have to look for it.

It is a wicker chair, my DD said it is not AG.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for popping back in to clear it up. My inner optimist was holding out hope that perhaps at least one of those wooden bars was a Kirsten chair leg as those tend to sell easily these days. Just goes to show that with enough imagination we can see whatever we want to see...
