A while back I posted that I was having my gallbladder checked. After the results were in they decided that my gallbladder should be removed. Today I met with my surgeon and the surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

I am so scared. My blood pressure was pretty high at my pre-op appointment because I was so scared. They saw how bad I was shaking.

What scares me is that I've never been through anything like this. The only time I've been cut on was when I had my wisdom teeth taken out and that wasn't a very pleasant experience. I woke up in the middle of the procedure. Today they assured me they would keep a close eye on me to make sure I don't wake up too soon.

Then I found out they will be putting a tube down my throat. What?!!? Oh my. That is another scary thing for me.

Any and all prayers and pixie dust would really be appreciated.

Thankfully my sisters are going to take good care of me when I go home.

:grouphug: and :wizard: .
Is the tube that is going to be put down your throat a breathing tube? If so, I had that put into me also. They did it after they knocked me out and when I woke up, my throat was sore because they did put that inside, and dry, but you should be ok in a few days from it. Nothing to really be concered about. Just buy some straws if you have a hard time drinking.
Take care and update us when you get a chance. :grouphug:

Good luck! I had this done 6 months after I had a c-section. Are you having laproscopy?

Hang in there Michelle! Don't worry about the tube - they put in in after you're asleep. Let us know how it goes!! :grouphug:

Yes, at least that is the current plan.

The tube I was talking about is the breathing tube.

Thanks everyone! I really do appreciate it. If I feel like it tomorrow night I may try to sneak on the computer for a little bit and update everyone.

Had it done after the birth of my first child. You will be fine. Don't wait on this procedure..I waited much too long and had a very difficult time in recovery and wound up with 3 surgeries to get all of the stones out.

I am sure that you will be fine. They will keep you sedated so that you will not know about a thing. Enjoy the jello aftewards.

Oh good. You'll be fine!

They put the breathing tube in after your under. They almost always take it out before you wake up.

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie. I know it's scary but you are going to be fine. You won't even know when they intubate you. You will be asleep. The worst part is the IV, honest.

If they can do this procedure laparoscopically you will have some pain but it won't be unbearable and they will give you medication to control it.

Good luck tomorrow. Please keep us posted.

its easy you just go to sleep, wake up and you did it :)

Here's hoping your surgery was as easy as mine!

I'd also never been hospitalized & was apprehensive, to say the least!. I was home by noon - outside of a day or two of minor "owwy" pain when trying to sit up, it was a vacation compared to the pain experienced beforehand...

Best of luck!

Everything will go just fine, but it is scary. Sorry you have to go through this. Still better to find it early and have it taken care of.

And I was feeling down because I need another root canel. I guess it puts things in prespective.

Good luck. (hugs and pixi dust.)

Sending lots of pixie dust your way..

I did this years ago, and had the lap coli version....I never had a sore throat from the tube.. I did have a little tightness from the staples, but other than that, it was a piece of cake..

We will be thinking of you and sending that good positive energy your way.. Please let us know how you are doing.. :earsgirl:

Thanks everyone. It really does mean a lot.

Yes, I should be asleep but I can't sleep right now.
