This is our first trip to WDW from June 21-27. We arrive early afternoon on the 21 and leave around 5pm on the 27. Cast: DH who is a strict meat & potatoes or pasta man, who hates anything fishy. Me, loves to try anything new, and can't wait to meet eeyore! We will be having the dining plan and are staying at POFQ.

June 21- Rose & Crown 7:30pm (to catch illuminations too)

June 22- AK in am, CS in DTD for dinner?

June 23- MGM in am, LeCellier for dinner

June 24- MK all day. Hubby really wants to do LTT for lunch. CS dinner.

June 25- TL in am, DQ in pm. ESPN club for dinner. (a day for hubby to enjoy)

June 26- MGM all day. Split lunch at Sci-fi early (OOP). Fantasmic dinner package MM.

June 27- MK. Crystal Palace for early breakfast with eeyore  Hubby wants to do Tony's town square for lunch. One of these will be OOP.

So what do you guys think? I want to maybe put in Jiko or Boma, or maybe even WCC. DH might be scared by the antics at WCC if we're by ourselves though. Let me know if you have any suggestions. :cutie:

Personally this is the only one I would change. We had the Fantasmic package there and it is a limited menu (wasnt told this) Dh will eat anything and I tend to be pickier. He said he will never go back there and didnt eat most of his meal. It was awful. Service was great but that was the only this that was remotely good about this place.

Sounds good, but as honeybehr1 stated there is a limited menu at MM so check to see if it is acceptable before you commit to it. If I were paying OOP for that last day it would be for breakfast, you will get a better value for using the TS credit at Tony's.

Looks like you have a good plan! I would try to fit in Boma, we love it! We did WCC and it was a lot of fun. There are so many great options, it makes it hard to finalize your ADR's! Good Luck! :earsboy:

Your husband and I should be dining partners! :earsboy:

I would skip Tony's and go to the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Tony's food isn't any good at all, and the WCC is great. Unless your husband is extremely thin-skinned the place won't bug him.

Your husband will be happy with Liberty Tree Tavern. But I'd do it for dinner because you leave there feeling like you do after eating a thanksgiving meal. Do Pecos Bill in Frontierland for your counter-service lunch.

If you can, do the Hoop-Dee-Doo. They have regular, yummy food, and it is a great show!
:flower:

I've done Mama Melrose several times before and loved it! If you are going to DTD and are going to do a CS I would recommend Earl of Sandwich...it is very good and is a great change from Disney food.

Thanks everyone for your great opinions and advice. I'll have to recheck the MM menu for the fantasmic package and talk DH out of Tony's. I think he would be more impressed with someplace else for our last WDW meal for who knows how long.

I like Tony's for lunch...I have had good lunches there. It is a great spot if you are trying to catch the afternoon parade. The one I would switch out is Rose and Crown(unless you have to be ther for illuminations)...I like the fish and chips, but DH (who is a meat and potatoes guy also) did not like it at all. Just a warning, your DH might be better off just getting a beer!!!

Great choices you have. I would absolutely try Jiko if I were you. I have eaten there four times with 10 plus individuals at each seating and everyone raved about it each and every time. Not one complaint and this is coming from a meat and potatoes family.

My family and I ate at Jiko last year during our stay and went to the California Grill during the same stay and it wasn't even close. Jiko was a consensus winner. We have not been to Victoria and Albert's yet, but we rank Jiko as #1 in all of Disney.

On June 24th, as someone else mentioned, you might switch Liberty Tree Tavern from lunch to dinner & have CS for lunch. Libertry Tree Tavern is only a character meal at dinner, I think. And we thought the characters at LTT were really good - fun for adults too. An excellent CS option in MK is Columbia Harbour House!

Last year, we ate at Hollywood & Vine for our FDP, and neither DH nor I were impressed at all - very mediocre food (although the retro Hollywood setting was cute). It was a very crowded restaurant too - the tables were really close together - we might as well have been sharing a table w/ the couple next to us. This year, we're trying Mama Melrose's. The only other option for the FDP is the Brown Derby which is supposed to be delicious but takes 2 TS credits.

We ate at Boma last year. It was a wonderful experience. Even though the buffet has lots of different ethnic choices, it still has the "meat & potatoes" offerings as well. And it was fun to try the different foods too. I tasted a soup that was quite good! And the desserts are delicious! I would go back just for a zebra dome! This year, I currently don't have an ADR for Boma, but we both enjoyed it so much, I'm trying to work it back into our schedule. The AKL is beautiful! We got there early for our dinner & had the opportunity to walk around & look at the animals. Boma was really pretty too, I thought. I could see how it could even have a "romantic" atmosphere were I there w/ just my DH - crowded buffet aside, of course! ;) Boma was the perfect "wrap-up" to our day at AK!

If you end up eating lunch at AK, try Flame Tree for CS- so good, and the open-air seating next to the water was so relaxing!

This year, for our World Showcase country choice, we're trying San Angel Inn. However, that's because we'll be there on Father's Day, and DH has always wanted to eat there. If I had my choice, I would eat at Rose & Crown, because I think it would be lovely to eat there & be there for Illuminations. The menu sounds really good, and I think your "meat & potatoes" DH might like one of the meat & potato pies.

At MK, if you decided you didn't want to eat at Tony's, you could switch your CP breakfast to lunch. We had lunch there last year, & it was our very favorite buffet - so many wonderful selections on the buffet. However, if you have an early ADR at CP, you can get into the park early & have some nice quiet time in the park & excellent opportunities for some good pictures in front of the castle.

Another reason not to eat at Tony's would be if you kept your FDP at Mama Melrose's - both are Italian. And, just for variety, you could try another restaurant - like WCC at the WL which is in close proximity to MK - easy access by the resort boat (which is a nice & relaxing boat ride too).

And I would second Earl of Sandwich for CS at DTD - yummy, yummy sandwiches! And if you have too many CS's on your dining plan, Earl of Sandwich is priced really reasonably & can easily be one of your OOP meals.

The only other meals/restaurants I would try if I were there w/ just my DH w/o the kids would be the California Grill at the Contemporary (requires 2 TS credits) or dinner at the Castle in MK (also requires 2 TS credits). Calfornia Grill gets rave reviews & is supposed to have an excellent view of Wishes. And I think it would be really romantic to have dinner at the Castle.

So many wonderful choices!!
