My whole family is going to WDW in a few weeks and I'm bringing the 40D. We're hoping to get some great family pics. What are some good places in MK for nice family pics? In front of the castle and at the entrance are obvious choices, but where else?

Thanks!!

there are places throughout the parks that have signs saying photo spot etc. There are also some other places that might be nice, like back by Liberty Square, there are a couple rocking chairs on a small porch. That could be a nice spot on the steps, though nothing spectacular in the back ground. The Wishing Well could be a nice spot or Cinderella's Fountain. Down on Tom Sawyers Island where the fence is painted there is a deck area and finally, the pathway over along the train track that goes from ToonTown to Tomorrowland. That is all I can think of this moment that may not have strollers filling the back ground.

Oh... off of Main Street, there is a small area that is nice between the glass shop and the watch shop (or just before) that could work.

If you peruse my MK gallery, and see any particular scene you like and would like to get a family portrait in front of, I've just completed a project of geotagging all of my photos - you can click on a 'view map' link and it'll take you to a satellite overhead view with a thumbtack in the precise spot I was standing when I took the photo. It's zoomable down to street-level detail.

Maybe it'll help - if so, please feel free to try it out. Here's the link direct to the MK gallery:

I've done the same for all of my Disney galleries in all the parks and resorts too.

Either way...you'll have no problem finding some cool and scenic spots for portraits. Have a good time!

The park maps show all the photo spots with a little blue camera symbol. There are plenty more great photo spots but you can't go wrong by trying all the marked ones first.

Look at some of the galleries posted by photographers on this board for some other great photo spot ideas!
