Need some ideas on how to Make $$ this summer...

.... I recently came into $1000 to go to WDW this fall. Now I need to find a way to make some more money this summer. My dh is totally grumpy and against the idea, so I have to make the $$ myself. I'm having a yard sale at the end of June..... I have some Longaberger baskets I'm putting on ebay.... I'd sell my husband's truck but I think he'd notice I was thinking about babysitting but he'll be ugly if it interferes with camping. Anybody have anymore ideas??

I've just recently started making beaded jewerly - easy to make, the beads are relatively cheap, clunky jewerly is IN so the markup on these pieces is tenfold. I took the stuff to work with me and made $500 in one day!

I also do yardsales, and last year I sold a bunch of my Longaberger baskets on ebay, so you have good ideas there as well.

Do you do any type of crafts? You'd be surprised how many people like handmade things, you might want to consider it.

How about going into business for yourself, selling one of any number of products. I currently am an independent consultant for Partylite, and a rep for AVON. You set your own hours and you get out of it what you put into it. An average consultant around here, doing 12 parties a month, can make $1200.00.
Its not for everyone, but its an option...there are so many different direct sales opportunites out there, you're sure to find one that fits you. I just happen to like AVON products and LOVE Partylites candles. Find one that requires little to no cash investment and you're all set!

I'm starting a new venture I hope will give me extra $$ for a much needed trip to WDW. The products are baskets made from recycled plastic (like milk jugs) which resemble a *previously* mentioned basket. They're used for outdoors mostly and maintenance free. You could start your own home-based business selling these.

I saw a neat thing in Budget Living magazine, where she made TV trays out of old picture frames, vintage wrapping paper/postcards, paint, felt, and some small handles...

Just a suggestion:

Don't limit yourself on eBay -- make the yard sale virtual and list all the stuff on eBay first. Whatever doesn't sell, put in the yard sale. Start it at the price you would list it at the yard sale and see what happens.

Example: this week I listed some leotards of my daughter's and some dresses and other clothing that she's outgrown that I might have gotten $30 for at the resale shop (and probably less in a yard sale). They closed this afternoon and we netted $200.00.

We've funded our Disney trips this way, a little at a time, and it adds up quick!

I've recently got back into ebaying. Tomorrow I'm going to put up a bunch of DD's clothes, books, toys, stuffed animals, etc. I'm also going to go through a bunch of VHS movies we don't watch anymore. I think I might even sell her TDS Minnie Mouse coutume with matching shoes and ears. DD has a whole separate room of toys that she doens't even go into anymore. She wants to have a yard sale, but we'll get more for her stuff at ebay.

I'm spending the week cleaning house and will have lots to sell by Friday.

You could always try putting hubby for sale on e-bay....you'd probably get a good price...him being so handy and all. Just a suggestion....
