We all have AP's but our DS turns 3 tomorrow so he will now need a park ticket for our upcoming trip.

I'm not sure what ticket we should purchase for him. Our AP's don't expire till next August so if we purchase him an AP, his will be set on a different time table. But we will be returning to WDW next October so technically it would save us money to buy the AP. Does that make sense? lol.

What do you think we should do? Should I just buy him the AP and not worry about the different time table? Or should I just get him a park hopper for our Feb. trip and then buy him an AP when we all renew ours in August?

Thanks in advance!

I'd estimate how many days you think you'll be going between now and the time your existing AP's expire, then figure out how many 'Hopper days' your son would need. If the number of days he would need passes the 'break even' point on an AP, get the AP. That way you're not really losing any money if you purchase a new AP for him when your APs expire, you're just losing a little 'time'.

Make sense?

I think so. We'll only be going to the parks for 6 days between now and when our Ap's expire. So what your saying is that since we won't reach the break even point for him then we should just buy a hopper for this trip, right?

Thanks for your help Cleo!!

Really, it just comes down to whether you mind having the different expiration dates.

Assuming your October trip will be enough to push your son past the break-even point, then financially its a better choice to get him the AP. It just means you won't have the convenience of renewing all at once.

So its convenience vs. $$$...

In this case, I'd probably go with the $$$ and then if you want to, you can use the difference to buy an extra souvenir!
