This is my first post in YEARS so many years, that I forgot my screen name and password. I originally found the DIS Boards back in 2001, when I was researching a Disney Cruise. Well, I found enough info that I was able to answer my hubbys questions and we went on that cruise in April 2002, celebrating our anniversary and sons birthday.
I have lurked on these boards A LOT in the years since that cruise, mainly on the Budget, Trip Reports, and Camping forums (always been intrigued with the idea of camping at Ft. Wilderness), occasionally on the Creative Community and Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, anyhow, fast forward to today, we have just decided on a trip to Orlando for my sons college spring break (Harry Potter and Braves Spring training were the clinchers with the promise of no mention the D word while we are there-LOL
).
We will be in Orlando from Friday, 3/4 thru Friday, 3/11 with the following tentative itenirary:
Friday, 3/4 travel by car (maybe 2 vehicles if son brings along a friend or two) to Orlando from Atlanta stay at local hotel still TBD
Saturday 3/5 check into condo, Universal Studios morning, check into condo, return to US for Mardi Gras parade and Lynard Skynard concert.
Sunday, 3/6 not sure yet
Monday, 3/7 Islands of Adventure Harry Potter, Mythos restaurant
Tuesday, 3/8 - morning open; Braves/Yankees spring training game at ESPN Wide World of Sports in the afternoon
Wednesday, 3/9 not sure, possibly Sea World
Thursday, 3/10 not sure, possibly back to US/IOA
Friday, 3/11 travel from Orlando to Atlanta
Lots of downtime dont want to overschedule or tour Commando style (need the option of rest/recover time for hubby who is recovering from knee surgery we are renting an ECV for him to use)
So, I have this idea of a WDW trip during the holidays this December floating around in the back of mind as a possibility
. As you can see, we have lots of not scheduled/down time and I found this timeshare presentation listed on ebay.
Well, I can't post link, since I'm starting over; but basically you pay $40 for a breakfast, attend their presentation, and then you can buy Disney tickets at a dramatically reduced rate (I'm looking at 4 4 day tickets for $626.74 - saving $493.76)
[="Magenta"]We would have time to do this, and it looks like a great way to save some $$ on tickets for that December trip. Im just curious if anyone has ever done this and is willing to provide some feedback pros and cons.
I would also like any other suggestions you might have to make this a GREAT trip!
TIA for your input!
