Need some help for a friend!

Here's our situation. My best friend, her DH and her DD want to go to WDW with DH and I in March. They need a really good rate for transportation. They were looking at either a rental van or Amtrak. Possibly flying too! They would be going with us March 10-17. Where can we get them good rates?

Where are your friends coming from? For airfare try checking Southwest, AirTran, Spirit, or US Air. They seem to usually have the best prices. Also, check www.mousesavers.com for lots of really good tips on saving money.

We are all coming from Grand Rapids, Michigan. DH and I are driving and they want to do the same but need to find some good deals. They really would like to take a van but it's only her, her DH and her daughter. I will check out mousesavers when I get home from work for her.

Car rental deals you may find here or on other Disney related sites would most likely be for Florida rentals, pickup and dropoff in Florida. The most expensive rental you can get is for a van and for driving so many miles and crossing so many state lines [some rental companies would not even let you have a vehicle under these circumstances]. Your best bet would be to go by air. Go to airline web sites and sigh up for e-mail notification of upcoming rates and special web fares and hope for the best.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually called Hertz through my AAA membership (they have AAA as well) and I got a quote of 262 with tax and they originally got a quote of almost 500 without the AAA discount from Hertz. So that is what they probably will do. My best friend really doesn't want to take an airplane. She's just as scared as I am of flying.
