We are WDW vets and always stay onsite. It's a huge part of the trip for us. We typically rent DVC points and stay in a villa. However, we are trying to cut cost for our DLR trip and it just seems the most plentiful (and closest) options are offsite hotels.

So, there are 6 of us (two adults, two teens, two children). We like our space for sure, and really prefer two bathrooms as I have one teen who is a bathroom hog. We share one hotel room (like a suite) on road trips and I am always glad it is only for one night at a time. We just don't all sleep good in the same room (really light sleepers).

We want to walk to the parks and are not renting a car. The walkability is one of our main reasons for trying DLR.

I currently have a room booked for BWPPI but I am definitely concerned the space is too small despite the occupancy fitting us. I really like Anaheim Desert Resort's family suite (two rooms, 4 Q beds, 2 bath) as this would be perfect for us but every date I check, those rooms are all booked. And it just doesn't seem to be as popular of a choice as other hotels. But yet, that particular room category is booked solid for months...Is there anything else like that very, very close?

Any suggestions? Thank you!

Its a shame that DI&S is booked out for your dates - that was going to be my suggestion. I stayed there with my kids in a smaller suite that you were looking for and we liked our stay with them just fine. Sorry I can't be more help. But to say if something opens up at DI&S suites take it :)

Why not get two rooms? I don't think I could stand even one night with six people crammed into a single motel room.

PVI has a triple queen room and the third queen is in a seperate room, I think it is only one bathroom though but it is literally right across the crosswalk

There is a brand new Courtyard across the street that has suites. Might want to check that out. Most of the suite hotels are farther away but offer shuttle service.

We were trying to go more 'budget' this trip but I'm really not feeling the six people in one room thing either. I'm sure the BWPPI room is nice but it just looks so small to me in the pics.

Thanks for the suggestion! Gonna check this out.

Thank you! I will look at the Courtyard. We really want to be able to walk so across the street is great!

When we first started planning our July trip, I looked at hotels. I was just looking for myself, the wife and kids. If all 3 kids were to go, prices just went UP! Luckily my mom knows somebody, and she got us and the rest of the family into a 2 bedroom villa at VGC.

Did you check the suite options at Howard Johnson? They seemed to have a few different suite options including a kids suite with bunk beds. They are pretty expensive though, and I actually cancelled our reservation there to book two rooms at the Tropicana to save a few bucks. It is so nice staying close and not having to worry about commuting and parking!

There is ther Desert Inn and Suites and the Desert Pal Inn and suits on Katella. I assume both are full for you date.

Were you able to get connecting rooms at Tropicana pretty easily? I did look at HoJo and it seemed pretty pricey.

Desert Inn and Suites has the more expensive room available but that is more than we want to pay and more space than we need. Our dates were later in the year and we just realized we needed to move our trip up.

Yep, no problem at all. I noted the confirmation number of the first reservation on the second and requested adjoining rooms. They did have a shared door inside so we were able to open that and hang out in both rooms.

Carousel Inn and Suites has the Resort Suite which has 2 bathrooms, 1 room with a queen, and a room with 2 queens. We really enjoyed this one. They also have the View Suite, which is quite large, has 3 bedding area (one room with a queen, and 2 rooms with a king in each, then a fold out couch in a living room area. Problem, only one bathroom. And the Camelot has a "Family Suite" which is similar to having 2 adjoining rooms.

This is so good to hear. I have two rooms reserved at Tropicana for my trip in March. When I called to request adjoining rooms, the very sweet employee I spoke with acted like it would be no problem, but I keep fretting that we'll end up with rooms at opposite ends of the motel. I don't know what it is about DL trips at brings out the worry wort in me:worried:.

The new Homewood might be a choice also I don't think they have 2 bedrooms ones but you might look and see I looked at the suites at some of the others and they are really expensive!

I stayed in the new homewood suites without kids and thought it was lovely, but only one bathroom. We are also a family of six and one bathroom is our biggest problem anywhere we stay. We have stayed at DI&S with our kids and have looked into staying at Carousel because I know they have a room with 2 bathrooms.

We have stayed in the Carousel two bedroom suite. I thought we had a King in the one bedroom and two queens in the other but I could be wrong. It worked very well for us. The bathroom attached to the two queen room was nice in that the toilet and tub were separate from the sink/vanity. It's good if your teenager takes a lot of time on hair or makeup because the others can still shower or use the toilet. We were very happy with the room, short walk to the park, and price.

I think it would be a tight fit at BWPPI. We are a family of five, and it works great for us, but I can't imagine two people sharing the pull out sofabed unless they were very small children.

We have stayed in the family suite at Camelot, and it will give you a lot of space, but sadly only one bathroom.
