How skinny are your skinny jeans?

YEAH, YOU HEARD ME :littleangel:

1) Yes great idea, but then it would be grey on grey. SHould I wear a black Cami instead, since the jacket is grey?
2)Ok heel it is!
3) I have a few, and some are like skin on skin, and some have room. Will this look weird tucked in to my boots. I don't think I could wear them on top, they will slide up all night.

Darn, I just thought if I wear the grey cami, I have to go back out shopping for a grey bra, I can do that tomorrow or Friday, as I have to go out and get my eyes done.

THANKS

Grey on grey would be ok , especially if there is some sort of sparkly black scarf. If you do a black cami, depending on the shade of grey, then a silver scarf could be hot and dangle silver earrings . Just bought a gorgeous one from Ann Taylor around Christmas. It is long , with metallic threads . Pretty : )

Skinny jeans go in the boots, tighter is better for me, I have looser skinny jeans but they move around too much in the boots . I save those for flats or short ankle boots.

You are going to be a hot mommasita on Friday night in the frozen tundra:cool1:

Have a great time and can't wear to hear all about it.

Yep. Get some funky jewelry or something to give it some oomph.

You're going to look awesome! We'd love a picture.:rolleyes1

Size 2! I am on my way there, but I have a ways to go! Very jealous!

I am a 41 year old mother of 2, and I am going out Friday night with a bunch of old friends to see a band play. The venue is sort of a Rock Bar. All of us either went to school with some of these members, but that is not the point.

Now, I NEVER go out to these types of things. I am NOT a fashionista, but not wearing cardigans daily either. I have been home recovering from major sugeries for 2 years, and would honestly like to look good. I want to have a good time. I am looking forward to this. Also, they have not seen me since I have dropped about 70 pounds over the years.:)

I was definitely thinking of jeans, so that is OK. I have many pairs to choose from. I am thinking of going with dark blue skinny jeans.

My issues in question would be what to wear as boots. Would high black boots look too "i want to be 20" again, lol. I don't want to wear my ski boots either, lol. I also have a cute pair of ankle boots that are brown leather, just a small heel. I have the new uggs with mohair hanging down, but as I am like 5 feet one MAYBE, lol. I was thinking a heel might be nice.

Now onto a top, lol. This is my worst dilemna. I have tons of woolen but nice tops, and some shorter ones. Would a nice Vneck cotton top with a brown belt be ok with those ankle brown boots be ok?

My daughter is telling me to wear a black skirt with tights and my tall black boots with my white top, but I dunno, I have to be comfortable, as we are all going to a nice Mexican Restaurant first. If I start off with those boots, I might not last long, lol.

I know there are deeper problems, but for once it is fun that this is my problem this week, nothing deeper.

So ANY advice is welcome, bring it on please. :flower3:

Dark blue skinny jeans - Good, flattering for basically everyone, thin people, larger people. I would wear a longish top, untucked, not too tight fitting. Maybe a button down? The uggs would be a NO, but that's just beacuse I don't like them at all. Long black boots are actually kind of a good idea. If they don't have a heel they would look "I want to be 20 again" but if they have a heel they look FRESH, but not young, which is a fine line but a very important line. Actually now that I think about it, a wool sweater-type think might actually be a good idea if we're talking about something like the top on this look, a little thinner than that (since that top is very thick) would work well too. A skirt is not good for this type of venue I don't think, while skinny jeans are just PERFECT.

I hope this helped!

Thanks all.

Back to the mall tomorrow for some accessories :) I can not do scarves, I feel like I am being strangled or something weird, same with turtlenecks. I hate something around my neck area, so I will look for funky jewelry, that I could handle for one night.
DD wants to come, she is great at help for that thing. I will go after school with her.
Oh, this top is NOT normal. I am NOTTTT a size 2. I think I bought it after it fit well and it was that size, lol. Now it does not seem like I will wear it, but it is staying in my possession;)
I realllllly am anxiously awaiting my night out. I have not been out with the girls in years, and some go as far back as high school. DD has no school, so no need to be up at 6am on Friday., I can get some beauty sleep and not find it such a long day. Bad news is she has Italian school at 9 Sat. Am, and my son has a basketball tournament from 8am onwards . Well, DH is off this weekend :thumbsup2

That sounds perfect! Cute and comfortable. You may be standing and so I would not wear the tall boots.

I must strongly disagree with this statement. I think skinny jeans are a privilege, not a right. I see them a lot at the University and....

I agree. I am 5'8" and about 160 pounds. I am a size 10 but I don't consider myself fat...about average. My hips are way too big for them to look good! I haven't even tried them on because I fear it would be too depressing!!!

Now, to make this thread even longer :rotfl2:, it seems all my jeans have "some" type of darn stretch to them. I own about 25 to 30 pairs of jeans, and they start off GREAT, and then I am constantly pulling them up (with a belt).

Do they not make just 100% denim anymore? If anyone can give me some names or something, that would be appreciated as well. Maybe I can go downtown shopping :banana:. I would not mind spending the $ on something that does not stretch 2 sizes bigger in hours. Very annoying.

Skinny jeans are meant for a very slim percentage of people.

True. For me it makes my legs appear longer. Or least in my opinion it does, lol. I am a shorty.

Also, the regular cut, or the boot cut :scared1:makes my legs float, like I could fit 3 or 4 of my thighs or shins in it. They swim.

I can't think of any denim that is just denim. Especially not skinny jeans.
Lately I've just been going down a size and then stretching them out...buy a 28 instead of a 29...that kind of thing.

I have some Lee jeans that have some stretch but don't bag out after wearing them. They have a "comfort waist band" and I think that helps too. THey are SUPER comfortable. They fit like mom jeans (at your waist) but don't look like Mom jeans :lmao:.

I think I read somewhere that men jeans have no spandex in them while just about all women jeans have some. I work retail and have looked at the labels and most men jeans are 100% cotton while women jeans are usually 95% cotton, 5% spandex!

My tip for this is always buy a size smaller and hang dry. I put on my jeans about an hour before I leave and by the time to go, perfect fit!!
