Need some advice....First time cruiser

Doing the 3 land/ 4 sea March 3-10. Has anyone tried to upgrade to concierge at the resort (akl), and how much additional will it cost. Should I wait until I get to the resort, or call DCL before hand? Also, looking for advice on land excursions at CC.(thinking about the sail/snorkel). This is our first cruise (2 adults, one child 9).

I've never tried to upgrade, but if I wanted to, I'd probably call and talk to the DCL representatives and see what my options were.

As for shore excursions on Castaway Cay, my husband and I did the Seahorse Sail & Snorkel and it was fantastic. You are out in the open ocean, above a coral reef absolutely teaming with life! The only thing is, a couple of the kids on the excursion weren't comfortable, because there's no where to stop and stand up while you're swimming. You can't stand on the coral. So I'd recommend it most for people who are good swimmers and really comfortable in the water. That said, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
