Thanks to advice here we've decided to stay at WL our first night. After further thought we might do two nights to save on Saturday 2 bdrm. points at BWV and just because it's nice to experience a hotel more than a night. We currently have a room booked for the 1st night in a courtyard view at WL.

I called MS and they have the first night in a studio available for cash and 2nd night available on points. (This is a Friday and Saturday night). I do have to make a decision as our unused points need to be banked today.

How do WL and WLV compare as far as location and general ambiance? I know there is only a sleeper sofa in the studio and 2 Q in a regular room. Do you like one better than the other? We will have four - DD 21, DD 18 and the two of us.

Thanks again for any advice and your patience!

For room, I prefer the villas, they're just quieter (less foot traffic and no lobby noise) in my opinion. Besides, the villas have the kitchen/ettes which are worth their weight in gold.

... that said, I have never had a courtyard view in the lodge.... we had this view instead (and I vowed to stay villa from then on):

views depends - there are two courtyards - one the main one - ask for a lake view with main (not secondly) pool.

the main one is pretty wonderful - you can see the geyser going off and the EWP from your room (okay from some of the rooms with courtyard views)

the other courtyard view if the VWL - so would rather stay in VWL if that is your view.

the kitchen or kitchennett is pretty wonderful at VWL.

twinkle bug - I hope we don't get that view. One concern with the studio is the pull out bed - are they the new style? That's one of the reasons I lean toward the rooms as they have 2 Q beds but they don't have the kitchenette.
