DH and I are taking our 2 boys to Disney World in July 2010, for our first trip home to BWV. The kids will be 3 and 5 when we go. We are going for 10 nights. We are using our DVC membership to go to WDW for 10 nights every other year, so it is only one trip every 2 years. I already got our tickets from Undercover Tourist. We decided on a 7-day base ticket. We will not be going to the water parks and we didn't want a park hopper. The 7-day base ticket was much cheaper than the AP would have been even with the great DVC Member discount.

I called and added the basic DDP to our reservation, since it will save us lots of money based on our restaurant plans. Usually we do a CS lunch in the park and a TS dinner each night, and have breakfast in the room (and we throw in a couple of character breakfasts for fun). I am trying to figure out though, if it would be more worth it for one of us to upgrade to the AP and purchase the Tables in Wonderland card.

The TiW card costs $75 for DVC members, correct? How much would it be to upgrade from a 7-day adult base ticket to an AP? Does anyone know which CS locations at the parks accept the TiW card? Can you use the TiW card on any snacks (we do enjoy the snack credits on the DDP)?

I would also like to know if they accept the TiW card at the following TS restaurants:

1. CRT dinner
2. Chef Mickey's breakfast
3. Kouzzina breakfast
4. Captain's Grille lunch or dinner
5. Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner
6. Biergarten dinner
7. Chefs de France dinner
8. Le Cellier dinner
9. Garden Grill dinner
10. The Wave dinner
11. Cape May Cafe breakfast and dinner
12. Crystal Palace dinner
13. 50s Prime Time lunch
14. Beaches and Cream
15. Any locations in Downtown Disney?

Is there a website where I can access the complete list of restaurants that accept the TiW card? What would you do if you were me? Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

Not quite, it is $75 for AP members. DVC members are not eligible to buy the card unless they are AP holders or Florida residents. (and it's $100 for Florida residents)

The cost for a DVC-discounted AP is $389 plus tax ($414.95). If you used the Mousesavers discount, then it will cost you $186.34 to upgrade to an AP.

Given that you bought your tickets from UT, you should use the tickets one time before upgrading them. This will make the tickets show as the current value of the pass if bought from Disney, not the discounted price. You just need to go through the turnstiles then go right to Guest Services to do the upgrade.

Only a few:
Pizzafari
Flame Tree Barbecue
Restaurantosaurus

Can you use the TiW card on any snacks (we do enjoy the snack credits on the DDP)?

Nope, sorry.

I would also like to know if they accept the TiW card at the following TS restaurants:

1. CRT dinner YES
2. Chef Mickey's breakfast YES
3. Kouzzina breakfast I would think so, but I don't know for sure. Spoodles did.
4. Captain's Grille lunch or dinner YES
5. Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner YES
6. Biergarten dinner YES
7. Chefs de France dinner
8. Le Cellier dinner YES
9. Garden Grill dinner YES
10. The Wave dinner YES
11. Cape May Cafe breakfast and dinner YES

13. 50s Prime Time lunch YES
14. Beaches and Cream YES
15. Any locations in Downtown Disney? YES
Cap'n Jack's Restaurant
Raglan Road
Planet Hollywood

It sounds like you aren't planning on eating meals in your room at all? We tend to use our kitchen instead of eating counter service and do all our dining in table service restaurants (or character buffets). So TIW works better for us than the DP, plus we can order what we want.

That said, if you aren't going again for two years, I'd probably stick with the 7-day MYW passes and the dining plan. I think you'll end up spending less out-of-pocket that way, especially since you are going to make a lot of use of the counter service and snack portions of the DP.

Thanks so much! We did use the Mousesavers discount on the tickets.

Even though we are staying in a 1-BR and will have the kitchen, I don't like to cook on vacation. The only thing we will be preparing in the kitchen is breakfast, and that would most likely be something quick like cereal, frozen waffles, or eggs plus some coffee (we will bring Dunkin Donuts ground coffee from home). We always eat a TS dinner on vacation whether at Disney or anywhere else. We do prefer CS for lunch, so it looks like the dining plan with the 7-day base ticket is the better option for us, like you said.

See, I'm the opposite. I don't like to cook at home. ;) On vacation it's like a novelty! :lmao:

(Actually, what we do is have light breakfast stuff for mornings and snacks for evenings. Then I get stuff to make spaghetti and tacos. Those are both things we can heat up easily, and the taco meat can be used for tacos, taco salad, added to refried beans for burritos, etc. I usually cook it all while the guys are at the pool on the first afternoon right after we get into our room.)
