I booked our last trip with AAA and got a nice discount and a perk of a $25 Disney gift card when we arrived. I am trying to book right now, but the agent I have is good, but doesn't call me right back I have called 3 times today and only talked to her once and the Disney system was down, so she said she would call back I called again later on and she was gone. I really wanted to book today, and may just do it on th Disney site or call Disney.
Is there any perks that are going through AAA right now if I book? I know about the diamond pass ,but we won't be needing that. I also don't need the story time either. But it would be nice if we got a gift card again.

Or if anyone knows of a super AAA agent who is great with disney trips, you can PM me the name and number.
I like my girl, but last trip I had to do most of the calling back and I am kind of tired of it.

You don't get a $25 giftcard anymore, but you do get the AAA discount on the room if you book through AAA. You won't get it if you call Disney directly to book your package.

I know I wouldn't get the $25 card, as that was the special at the time I booked back in Jan. I wondered if htey were offereing a special right now. (I thought they did monthly things.not always related to Disney though) As for the discount, I would get a pretty nice discount going with Disneys special right now, but I priced AAA and not a single discount was given. The rooms were same price for some reason. (4 for a preferred in a value, same as what the Disney site is giving me.) And I had an agent price out three hotel, plus dining and tickets and I priced the same 3 on Disney site and all were cheaper, even without the special. I used to think that AA was always supposed to be cheaper, but I was shown it isn't for this trip. I think I am just going to call Disney and book.

Depends on when you are trying to book for there is a fall special on right now that is way better than the AAA package. IF there is still availabilty for it. if you go to disneyworld.com and then click on the special season savings you can check and see dates, sept 30 - Nov 19 Nov 24-28 Dec 8-23.

I know. That is the speical I am talking about. But I didn't get ANY discount from AAA. Which I don't get. You can get the Disney special through AAA, but I wanted to compare the rack rate prices with AAA and they didn't have a discount. Ith ought you always got at least 10% off the rack rate. But they didn't.

Sounds like you got a bad TA. There should be AAA rates available, booking through Disney or booking through AAA. However, there are a limited number of rooms so if those have been filled, then AAA wouldn't be able to get a discount. They should be able to tell you upfront if the AAA rooms are gone.

Here are the discounts available with AAA as on mousesavers:

In general, the discounts run as follows:

During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

During Peak Season and Summer Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.

The only time AAA/CAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas) at the Value and Moderate resorts.

I booked a AAA room-only through another travel agency rather than deal with AAA. I did book the week the 2008 rates came out just to make sure I got the discount. If you're flexible on your hotel, you should be able to get a discount somewhere :confused3 I prefer not to book with AAA because I always feel I know more about DIsney than their agents and I prefer a TA that'll look for additional discounts after booking. I've heard that AAA locks you in unless you ask them to change the code.

Out of curiousity, I asked for a quote on a package from AAA. What came back was the exact price as Disney, minus the discount on the room. Meaning, there are no additional discounts with AAA - just the room portion of the pacakges.

We are going in Jan 2008 and booked thru AAA. Got their rate for POP, $230 less than Disney web price. AAA benefits are the diamond parking pass, $15 Planet Hollywood meal voucher, the 10% world of disney shopping pass, luggage tags and the story telling time voucher. If you log onto AAA.com, you can send in a rate request and someone, from where i have no idea, will call you back with a quote.

I guess I haven't made myself clear...
I know what the discount is, I know the stuff that comes along with it, but sometimes they offer a extra special something for booking a trip with them. Like I got the gift card, and someone I knew got a DVD player, stuff like that.

And as for when I wanted to go, I got a quote from the AAA agnets that was the exact same as the rack rate on the Disney site. I also looked it up online to see what they were giving as a discount for a room only and it wasn't any. The room was 82 at Disney and 82 with discount on AAA. Thats not a discount.

But anyways, we aren't going now becuase my DH is a butthead and thinks twice in one year is too selfish. And god forbid we do anything that is my idea! :scared:
