Well, this is a new one and kinda cool for me. :D

Our department's Christmas luncheon is tomorrow afternoon, and people have been signing up to bring things for a couple of weeks now, but I kept forgetting to sign up for anything. So I asked the secretary in charge what I could bring.

She said all they had left that they needed to get was a small unisex approx $5 gift to be a door prize. Which I'll probly be picking up this afternoon at lunch, and if not, then obviously after dinner.

Any suggestions? What would you like to win as a door prize if you were playing holiday Christmas games?

Here's my standard "grab bag" gift (and teacher gift)...it's a tad over $5...but it goes over well.

I go to Blockbuster and pick up a $5 gift card. I then go to the grocery store and buy a three pack box of microwave popcorn. I tape the gift card to the popcorn box and wrap it up.

Voila, the recipient has popcorn and a movie!

Do you have any places that are close to your office that you eat frequently? I rcvd a gift certificate to the place we order from very often. It was $10, so it will buy me 2 lunches! But, I would have ben just as happy with one FREE lunch! :)

~ If you have Chik-Fil-A closeby they have a calendar that gives free food all year long (can you see what motivates me .. FREE and food ... lol ;) )

~ a few years ago, you could have done movie tickets, but WOWWY not for $5!

Just a thought ...

All you need is one door prize? The only thing I can think of is a cup with something like Hershey's Kisses inside, wrap it with cellophane and a bow.

Anyway, I'm bumping it up for ya.

LOL, well I see a bump wasn't neccessary. I love the idea of the movie and popcorn.

Thanks, all! I went with the movie gift card and popcorn idea. That was perfect for our group, and only $6.

Great plan!!!

Ok, TOTALLY off your post topic here, but I just wanted to let you know, as I was unpacking ornaments a few days ago, I found the one I rcvd last yr from you in the Ornament Exchange! It is just SOOO nifty (cross-stich snowMOUSE)!!! I had to post another thank you! :)
