Need sheet sets for new bed

I just got a new bed. Now need new sheets. I haven't needed 'fitted' sheets for years (used to have a waterbed). Now need deep pocket fitted sheets. I want a fairly good thread count (still dreaming of that heavenly bed at the Dolphin) but I have no clue what to buy.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Kohl's has them. I have purcchased them there for my deep pocket king size mattress. I think I have also seen them at Walmart.

I got a set not too long ago at Sams Club - 660 Thread Count and they are heavenly... I also have found good deals on high counts (300 and up) at a store called Tuesday Morning. They get very high end stuff at super clearance prices.

Hi, I read your other post about the waterbed leak. Similar thing happened to me except I came home from the hospital with new baby in hand and I didn't have a pull out coach. Ya the floor was comfy.

Anyway, I think I read you got a beautyrest. Same thing we bought. We've had it a little over a year now. Its awesome.

SHEETS! Measure your mattress. Take this info with you when you go shopping. NOT all Deep Pocket sheets will fit this mattress. I finally found some to fit at Linens & Things.

Thanks for the hints and ideas. I wanted a high thread count to make them as soft as can be. I didn't know Target has egyptian cotton. Anyone know appr $$$ ?
I am a big ebayer too, but since I haven't shopped for sheets for years, didn't know what the going prices were.

I cannot stress this point enought! ITA with caseylouandtyler2! It will save you hours of frustration if you just measure your mattress. I have a very odd size mattress. It's 20 inches deep, which = hard to find sheets for it which = very expensive sheets!

Depending on what size your mattress is, expect to pay anywhere from $20-200 on sheet sets!

Just want to add, that I would get sheets that say they will fit a mattress thicker than yours. Our mattress is only 16 inches, but none of the mattress pads that say they will fit up to 18 inch mattresses will go on. The sheets we got at Bed, Bath and Beyond are for up to a 20 inch mattress and they fit, but the corner still pulls up every once in awhile.

My favorite set of sheets is from Ralph Lauren Outlet Store. They're 330 or something thread count but really soft, and weren't that expensive. Also, they fit our deep/pillowtop mattress even with a featherbed topper.
